This year, YOU made hope possible 🌟 This year, we saw lives transformed. Families who had nowhere to turn found safety. Women who felt lost discovered hope and strength. One mother shared, ‘Because of you, my children finally feel safe enough to sleep through the night.’ 💜 But challenges remain. Families are still waiting for safety, and your kindness is what turns hope into action. Here’s what we achieved together in 2024: ✨ 410 women and children escaped abuse and found shelter ✨ 3,209 individuals received remote assistance ✨ 1,938 participants gained life-changing skills in our workshops Yet, with 173 women and 160 children still on our waitlist, we have more work to do. You’ve already changed lives — let’s do even more in 2025! 💜 Swipe through to see the impact YOU made and visit nisafoundation.ca/donate to create more safe and hopeful futures. This month, we are sharing participant stories from individuals who participated in Juno's EMPower Program to highlight its life-changing impact. Please take a couple of minutes to watch Aryana's journey. Content warning: mentions domestic violence "The EMPower Program made a huge difference in my life. Through this program I was able to overcome the challenges I faced, identify my goals and aspirations and take concrete steps towards achieving them." By providing women like Aryana with essential skills, resources, and support, this program empowers participants to achieve greater economic freedom, recover from trauma, and thrive. However, our work is far from done. We urgently need your help to continue this essential program and support more women and non binary people to break free from the cycle of poverty and trauma. We need to raise $100,000 before June 30, and we have an incredible opportunity to double your impact with matched donations up to $25,000! Please give generously today. On this #WorldChildrensDay2024, under the theme#ListenToTheFuture, we must confront the uncomfortable truth about our justice system and its impact on children. Are we truly listening to the future when we allow a system to perpetuate cycles of trauma and hardship? The incarceration of mothers—often for acts of survival or self-defence against relentless abuse—raises critical questions about our commitment to the best interests of the child. Each time a mother is taken away, we are not just severing a vital bond; we are sentencing her children to a future marked by stigma, instability, and emotional turmoil. As we advocate for a world that listens to children and prioritises their well-being, we must confront the systemic flaws that perpetuate their suffering. We must stand together to demand justice that is not only equitable but also sensitive to the realities faced by families. Let us be the voices for those who cannot speak, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. On this #WorldChildrensDay2024, let us commit to actively listening to the future—because their voices today will shape the world we all share tomorrow. A thought-provoking article on this issue is available at this link: https://lnkd.in/dWTdKmkE Join us as we continue our fight for the protection of mothers and their children during and post-incarceration by donating to our cause: https://lnkd.in/d7Kq-AyG #Decrminisalisepettyoffences #listentothefuture #childrensrights #Worldchildrensday2024

The stigma surrounding men's health remains a significant barrier to seeking help and support. Societal expectations of masculinity often discourage men from acknowledging their struggles or reaching out for assistance... Through my nonprofit, The Undie Chest, we recognize the urgent need to break down these barriers and support men in need, which is why this Arizona Gives Day... ... We aim to raise $5000 to purchase underwear for men who are too afraid to speak up about their struggles below the poverty line. $15 will provide one man with underwear for an entire week... 🏡 Supporting these underserved individuals is beneficial not only for them but also helps re-build our communities and pave a brighter road for future generations. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gbthPt6g #ArizonaGivesDay #HygienePoverty #MensHealth

Gender-Based Violence doesn’t just affect women; it impacts families, communities, and future generations. At Zoe Choosers Initiative, we recognize the struggles of mothers and children who are survivors of abuse. This is why we are taking a bold step by launching our Diaper Bank, a safe haven to support vulnerable mothers and their babies. By addressing basic needs like diapers, we help reduce the pressure on struggling mothers, giving them one less thing to worry about as they rebuild their lives. It is more than a donation; it is a statement of care, dignity, and hope. Join us as we stand with survivors. Together, we can give every child a better start and every mother the strength to move forward. #genderbasedviolence #diaperbank #zoechoosersinitiative #supportmothers #endgbv
