Journey: From Ambition to Achievement As I reflect on my journey, I can't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for where life has taken me. It all began after graduation when I stood at a crossroads, torn between my passion for event management and my longing to delve into the design industry. It was a pivotal moment, one filled with uncertainty yet brimming with potential. I vividly remember the inner struggle, the countless nights spent contemplating which path to pursue. Would I follow my heart's desire for event management or heed the call of creativity in the design realm? It was a dilemma that kept me awake, questioning my aspirations and the future that lay ahead. But amidst the uncertainty, one thing remained steadfast: my unwavering determination to carve out a path that resonated with my deepest passions. I embarked on a journey fueled by relentless pursuit, refusing to let doubt or fear deter me from chasing my dreams. And now, as I stand here today, I am filled with a profound sense of fulfillment and joy. For I have not only embraced my passion for event management but have also found my place in the dynamic world of design. It's a testament to the power of perseverance, the belief that with dedication and resilience, anything is possible. Every obstacle, every setback, served as a stepping stone, propelling me closer to my goals. And while the road was not always smooth, each challenge only strengthened my resolve and shaped me into the person I am today. To those who find themselves at a similar crossroads, grappling with uncertainty and indecision, I urge you to hold fast to your dreams. Embrace the journey, with all its twists and turns, for it is through perseverance and passion that we discover our truest selves. So here's to chasing dreams, to defying the odds, and to the incredible journey that lies ahead. May we never lose sight of our aspirations, for it is in the pursuit of our passions that we find the greatest fulfillment. #EmbraceTheJourney #FollowYourPassion #DreamsDoComeTrue

The "5-Year Plan" Myth: Embracing the Unexpected! ✨ "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" Used to be a dreaded question. My answer? Comfy corporate job in London , leaving room for photography (my true passion) . Stable, secure, predictable. Yet, something felt off . So I took a leap! ✈️ Traded London for Barcelona 🇪🇸, pursuing Masters in Coaching and Creative Therapies . Exhilarating, terrifying, and undeniably challenging (new city, no familiar faces, global pandemic!) 2023 wasn't a walk in the park. Photography gigs were scarce, finances were tight (especially with Barcelona's cost of living! ), and health stuff added stress . The reality was, I needed a more stable income. Confession time: the idea of going back full-time made me resist at first. But here's the twist: letting go of the pressure to live solely off photography was actually a game changer! It reignited my passion for the craft, letting me focus on projects I dug, not just the paycheck. **Then, the ultimate surprise: a full-time job in the automotive and robotics sector! ** Never saw that coming, but it rocks! Stability, great colleagues (we even have a company music band!), and a healthy work environment. Most importantly, it lets me keep pursuing photography on my own terms. Five years ago, a clear answer to "where do you see yourself?" seemed easy. Life, however, had other plans, leading me on an unexpected but rewarding journey. ️✨ Every challenge has become a learning opportunity, fueling my ongoing journey of growth. My Master's degrees were certainly instrumental, but the real education comes from every experience, challenges overcome, and connection made along the way. I'm incredibly fortunate to have found a supportive work environment with a fantastic team. It's a constant reminder that the most fulfilling experiences often lie beyond the initial map. #change #growth #alwayslearning #grateful #worklifebalance

🎯 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽! 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘀! 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹—𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲! Here’s why I believe staying in motion is better than waiting for things to be flawless. Especially in event management, where timing is everything, here's why done is often better than perfect: 1. 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲: Staying in action builds momentum! Waiting for perfection can freeze progress. Get things rolling, adjust as you go, and watch the magic unfold. 2. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴: When you’re in motion, you learn what works and what doesn’t—fast! Each step forward gives you valuable insights, making you better with every move. 3. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁: The truth is, “perfect” is elusive and ever-changing. Aim for excellence, but remember that sometimes “good enough” done with heart beats “perfect” on hold. 📌 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: Progress over perfection, always. In our line of work, impact is created through consistent action, not waiting for the stars to align! 🚀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁? 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻—𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱! #EventManagement #ProgressOverPerfection #WOWEvents #KeepMoving #ActionMindset #GetItDone

While my interview with Mr Dietmar Müller-Elmau was aimed at exploring his extraordinary journey from creating leading software to building the illustrious Schloss Elmau Luxury Spa Retreat & Cultural Hideaway—it transcended far beyond that. For me, it became a veritable treasure trove of profound life wisdom. I won’t keep these invaluable insights to myself, so here are my top five takeaways: ✨ Embrace unexpected opportunities, even when they seem daunting—they could become the most transformative experiences of your life. ✨ Stay open and adaptable to new learnings, no matter how intimidating it may feel. ✨ Never underestimate the power of mentorship. Knowing that you don’t have all the answers will humbly lead you to success. Always seek guidance. ✨ Learn to turn challenges into opportunities—true growth happens when learn to gracefully negate adversity, not when things are handed to you on a silver platter. ✨ Don’t be afraid to merge your passions with your profession. You won’t outgrow your interests; instead, you’ll discover how to integrate them into a fulfilling career. Read more about Mr Dietmar's enrapturing life journey below: https://lnkd.in/gQHQRrzT

Event projects: should you choose long-term or short-term ones? No matter the size of the project, its success depends on the event planner and on how they respond to changes and unexpected challenges throughout its lifecycle. One has to be flexible and adaptable to manage both. But if you had to choose between long-term or short-term projects what would be your choice? Short-term projects are great because you quickly get a team together, and work very intensively for a short time. Then the event happens and… that's it, you just finish it and relax. Long-term projects make you dive into the process for long. You constantly strive to make it better and develop it, allowing it to grow and acquire some new attributes. As you choose the project to work with, it’s crucial to base your decision on whether this or that project will help you develop and grow in the moment. As a matter of fact, your interests can vary at different stages of life. For instance, at the very start of my career I was engaged in short-term projects. I liked this so-called “butterfly effect” — when you do things quickly and then you see instant results on different levels. But a bit later I changed my career path and was no longer centered on catching as many “butterflies” as I could. I was more into a deep, thorough approach. It helped me see how the projects were evolving, gradually turning into something bigger, something I’d never imagined them to become. But even now, at times I suddenly feel the inner need to take this or that short-term project and enjoy the instant outcome. So, why choose the only trajectory, after all? Everyone opts for something that’s special for them at this or that moment, life’s so interesting and various. So, I say, try everything and base your decision on the period of time you’re in, along with your goals and objectives for the time being. What drives you now? What do you have strength for? Go ahead, try everything and choose your own unique path and line of work. #longvsshorteventprojects #workingintheeventindustry #chooseaneventproject

Exceeding Expectations Starts with Setting Clear Goals If you want to have successful outcomes on your next project—whether that’s a campus initiative or your own career aspirations—you need a robust understanding of your goal. Here are five questions to ask yourself to take goals from flat and uninspiring to clear and engaged: (https://lnkd.in/eDD56aWR) What do you want to achieve? Be specific and nuanced. “Bolster student enrollment” is vague. “Increase student enrollment across programs by an average of 3% in one academic year” is clear and defined. What are the steps to get there? Map out your intermediate goals, key players, and tools that you will need to reach your goal. Identify your team and method. How should you achieve it? Once you understand your destination and methodology, delve a little deeper into the characterization of your goal. What are the attitudes, values, and mission that guide your approach? It is essential that you consistently articulate this to your team. What are the warning signs that you’re off track? Projects always have challenges, setbacks, and conflict. Anticipate some of the obstacles you’ll face and think about how to address them. How will you build on your success? Achieving your goals energizes and informs your next steps. While you won’t see all the implications until your project is completed, sketch out how it fits into the overall landscape of your institution and career.

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of reaching our end goal, focusing only on the destination, missing out on the moments that shape us along the way. One way to remind ourself to enjoy the process is to celebrate small wins and milestones, no matter how minor they may seem. Whether it’s making meaningful connections, learning a new skill, or overcoming a challenge, each step is an essential part of our growth. Try reframing setbacks as learning opportunities and moments of progress, rather than obstacles. When you pause to reflect on what you’ve learned and who you’ve become through the journey, you start to find joy in the process itself. After all, success isn’t just about the end result, it’s about the person we become along the way. ⬇️ A Penny or two for your thoughts, How can you remind yourself to enjoy the process rather than only focusing on the destination? **************************** Hi I’m Claire P, Love working with Sales Professionals, Planners & Teams.
