NKF Singapore (The National Kidney Foundation)’s Post

Did you know there are 5 stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD)? Each stage is determined by the estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR), which measures kidney function. As CKD progresses, eGFR declines. At the final stage of CKD, also known as kidney failure, patients will need a transplant or dialysis to survive. Symptoms at early CKD stages can be easy to miss, causing progression to later stages without notice. Unfortunately, by then it's often too late, and the damage is irreversible. The best defence? Prioritise kidney screening and adopt a healthy lifestyle! Regular screenings can catch issues early, and by managing risk factors like diabetes and hypertension, which are major causes of kidney failure, you can safeguard your kidney health! 🥗🏃♀️🔎 #NKFsg #BeKidneySmart #chronickidneydisease #kidneyfailure #healthishealth #sghealth
