Moot court vs. Real court . A moot court is a simulated court environment designed for law students to practice legal arguments, unlike real courts which are established by law and involve actual judicial processes. In moot courts, students focus on presenting legal arguments without the pressure of delivering final judgments, whereas real courts follow strict procedural rules and deliver judgments based on facts and circumstances. Real court advocates must be registered, while moot court participants are law students acting as advocates. Moot courts are essential in law education, providing practical experience, enhancing skills in legal research, drafting, and courtroom etiquette, and boosting students' confidence and public speaking abilities. They help prepare students for professional practice by familiarizing them with advocacy requirements, reducing their learning curve when entering the legal field. 📝 Legal Vidhiya presents a 4-Week Certificate Course on Moot Court! 📅 Course Details: Registration Link: https://lnkd.in/ga-UN-h8 Last Date: 3 July 2024, 2:00 PM Commencement: 6 July 2024 Fee: ₹799/- only Platform: Google Meet 💰 Payment Details: PhonePe/GPay/PayTm: 7584998222 UPI ID: shubhamsingh97013@dbs 🔗 Official Notification: https://lnkd.in/gbxfnitQ Don't miss this chance to advance your legal career! 🚀👩⚖👨⚖ #MootCourt #LegalEducation #LawStudents #AdvocacySkills #LegalTraining #CourtroomExperience #LawSchool #PracticalLearning #LegalProfession #StudentAdvocates #FutureLawyers #LegalSkills #LawCareer #ProfessionalDevelopment

"𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐠 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫" 😑 I often hear people say that university tag doesn't matter, yet the feeling of not belonging to a Tier 1 college still lingers with me. Even though I am doing better than most of my peers and recognize that skills are what which truly matters, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝟑 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. When I began my law school journey, I was clueless about how to navigate things. I didn't know when to start interning, the importance of publications, whether I wanted to work in corporate law or pursue litigation, and many other aspects. Fortunately, I have someone to guide me and steer me back on track whenever I face challenges. Special thanks to Jagatjit Sahu sir. However, not everyone has this support, though everyone needs guidance from time to time. To assist other law students, Anuj Gupta and I at Juris Spectra have developed an exceptional workshop designed to help law students learn about Tier 1 law firms. This workshop will not only offer insights on how to prepare for securing an internship at a Tier 1 law firm but also provide clarity on whether corporate law is the right path for you. We have Pratha Khanna with us, who has interned in 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧 & 𝐂𝐨., 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐚𝐬, 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 and now is working as a Legal Associate. We also have our favorite Eshita Trivedi with us who has worked with 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬 and now is currently working as a legal associate at 𝐄𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐭 & 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 (𝐆𝐃𝐒). Register now and get the guidance you need! https://lnkd.in/gYhRcprG 📢 We have LIMITED SEATS and they are FILLING UP FAST, Enroll now to secure your spot!!!

Reflecting on My ADR Zoom Mentorship Session: An Overview of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Today, I had the privilege of participating in a Zoom mentorship session focused on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Unlocking the Power of Arbitration: Key Takeaways and Career Opportunities. As I reflect on the insightful session, am excited to share with you some of tge things that stood out for me, despite the challenges, I was able to glean valuable insights. . . . . . . . ✅Arbitration is not a One-Size-Fits-All Solution Arbitration is really an effective solution for commercial disputes, intellectual property issues, employment disputes, and international trade disputes. Arbitration is a versatile dispute resolution mechanism, but it's not suitable for all matters. Knowing this is crucial. In Nigeria, the non- arbitrable matters include but not limited to; Criminal matters, Divorce petition,Tax liability disputes, Election matters. However, the Supreme Court of Nigeria in a recent ruling has expanded the scope of non-arbitrable matters, to now include "defamation". ✅Arbitration Clause Arbitration Clause is a vital contract component, which ensures that arbitration is first explored before a recourse to litigation, offering numerous benefits, including flexibility, time and cost savings. Arbitration clause survives contract disputes and termination, hence, the Separability Principle. The notorious P and ID's case is a practical example of this principle, where the arbitration clause remained valid despite challenges to the main contract. The presence of Arbitration Clause does not completely oust the jurisdiction of the courts having considered the absence of vitiating elements. Also, the validity of an Arbitration Clause is the voluntary submission of parties. ✅Key Components of Arbitration and effects. A well-structured arbitration process includes flexibility, binding effect, written awards, signatures, rationale for decisions, parties, and dispute details. All these to ensure; a fair, effective and efficient arbitration process ✅Career Opportunities in Arbitration The field of arbitration offers diverse and exciting career paths, including arbitrators, dispute resolution specialists, technical and legal experts, consultants, counsels, registrars, tribunal secretaries, and more. And they exist in Law firms, Arbitration institutions, International organizations, Government agencies, Private companies, Academic institutions, Research centers, etc. ✅ Other Tips (I will keep for my use, join the next cohorts and be glad you do). These and much more I have known, thanks to our amiable and knowledgeable mentors Nanchang Nangwang, Toheeb Amuda, Esq , Joseph Siyaidon, Esq, MCIArb., Samuel Orobosa Osarenren , Eunice Olatunji , Mispa FRI AWASUM (Ph.D in view, LLM, MSc, LLB, M.CIArb (UK) Settlement House ADR Training Institute (SHATI) and JIIPCC , JIIPCC MENTORSHIP , thanks for this great opportunity. Here is the registration link for the next session https://lnkd.in/gtr2AyQg Due to technical issues I suppose, pictures are not uploading, hoping to drop them in the comments' if possible. #Jiipcimp #SHATI #ArbitrationandCareerOpportunities
