For those of you that are new here or don't now much about Minnesota Brownfields, please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and our mission is to promote, through education, research, and partnerships, the efficient cleanup and reuse of contaminated land as a means of generating economic growth, strengthening communities and enabling sustainable land use and development. Minnesota Brownfields was established in 2006 to promote the voluntary investigation, cleanup and redevelopment of brownfield sites throughout the state by: 🌳 Facilitating interaction between interested parties, including property owners, government, community organizations, developers, attorneys, consultants and policy makers. 🌳 Providing a venue/platform for the identification of brownfield redevelopment barriers and solutions. 🌳 Removing obstacles to redevelopment of problematic brownfield properties in Minnesota by, for example, acting as a conduit for obtaining local, state, and federal sources of funding, taking title to property, or otherwise facilitating the investigation, cleanup, and redevelopment process as appropriate. Don't Back Down, We Need To Be in Solidarity Now More than Ever Despite the frankly disgusting decision by the DNR to permit a new section of the Line 5 pipeline, many organizations are ready to respond and fight. Midwest Environmental Advocates is currently providing legal representation to several organizations working to stop new construction on Line 5: League of Women Voters of WI, 350 Wisconsin and Sierra Club – Wisconsin Chapter. No it is not: "CACI Inc. – Federal, Chantilly, Virginia, was awarded a $16,975,111 firm-fixed-price, second bridge contract (N3220524C4020) for worldwide support services in the functional areas of sustainment logistics including, Corrective Maintenance Logistics System support, Combat Logistics Force load management, material handling equipment, and ordnance handling equipment support and ordnance management. The contract contains a three-month base period and a three-month option period, plus Federal Acquisition Regulation 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services, for a total of 12 months. The contract will be performed on a worldwide basis beginning Dec. 20, 2023, and will conclude on Dec. 19, 2024, if all options are exercised. This contract was a sole source, unusual and compelling urgency in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 3204 (a) (2) and solicited via SAM.gov website, with one timely offer received. Nan Mckay has been a new pivot for us as we progress in PHA administrative duties in the Public Housing sector. Non-profit Construction Corporation is all hands on deck with our recent trainings and filling the administrative gaps quickly. I am truly hoping to see a cooperative agreement this year with our Public Housing and Health and Human Services, they have been very adamant about not getting setback in progress towards the current administrative plan which includes but explicitly states in the first headline they do not participate in homeownership for voucher holders. As a person born into homelessness in El Dorado County, having overcome so many low-income family endeavors in my life. I have a true passion to see a child in decent housing and give that child's family the ability to end their generational cycle of poverty through homeownership equity, guidance, counseling and coaching. An administrative gap or burden is no excuse to not achieve the possible, especially when it's in your job description. Non-profit Construction Corporation is here for a reason, and our mission is one of conviction and concern.
