The Power of Contour Bias in Design and Branding 🎨✨ Recent experiments have demonstrated that people generally prefer rounded, contoured objects over angular ones. For example, round-faced watches are often favored over square-faced ones. This preference, consistent across genders, indicates an innate contour bias in humans. Interestingly, while angular objects are less liked overall, they engage deeper associative processing in the brain, making them more interesting and thought-provoking. This reveals a tradeoff in design: angular features attract attention and provoke thought, while contoured features create a positive emotional and aesthetic impression. Implications for Brand Design Understanding contour bias is crucial for effective brand design. Here are a few key takeaways: 🖊 🖊🖊 Initial Impressions: Use rounded, contoured features in your branding to create a positive first impression. This can help make your brand appear more approachable and friendly. 😊 Attention and Engagement: Incorporate angular elements strategically to draw attention and provoke thought. This can be particularly effective in advertisements or product features where you want to engage your audience more deeply. 🔍🧠 Balancing Act: Balance contoured and angular elements to leverage both their strengths. For example, a logo with smooth curves can create a welcoming feel, while incorporating some sharp angles can add an element of intrigue and sophistication. ⚖️ By considering contour bias in your design strategy, you can create a brand identity that not only attracts attention but also leaves a lasting positive impression. 🌟 #DesignThinking #Branding #ContourBias #UXDesign #Marketing #UserExperience #DesignStrategy #VisualDesign #BrandIdentity

𝟱 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 A stunning 𝟴𝟴% 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 to a website after a poor experience, making thoughtful design critical to building brand loyalty. Here are five design trends that are transforming online experiences and setting businesses apart: 🔹 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 Simplicity is key. By eliminating clutter, minimalist design helps users find exactly what they need, faster. Clear layouts with intentional whitespace improve navigation, creating a seamless, stress-free user experience. 🔹 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀 In a crowded digital space, custom visuals are key to standing out. Unique illustrations and graphics make a brand memorable and simplify complex ideas. A distinct visual style not only enhances aesthetics but reinforces brand identity and builds a lasting connection with visitors. 🔹 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Dark mode isn’t just stylish; it’s easier on the eyes, especially for mobile users. By offering light and dark modes, businesses are boosting accessibility and creating a more versatile brand experience across devices. 🔹 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 Strong fonts and high-contrast colors capture attention and reinforce brand identity. This trend is visually impactful and guides the eye, allowing businesses to emphasize key messages and calls to action effortlessly. 🔹 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼-𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗨𝗫 Subtle animations—like hover effects or scrolling transitions—add life to static pages. These animations enhance UX by drawing attention to important areas, adding depth to design, and making sites more engaging without overwhelming the user. These trends show that thoughtful design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a strategic asset that connects with users and builds trust.

𝗜𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀? I see this all the time with businesses during consultations. They invest in flashy visuals but miss the core idea: 𝗡𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. One of my clients approached me with: 1️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗼 but disconnected from the bigger picture 2️⃣ 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 Mismatched colors, fonts, or layouts 3️⃣ 𝗔𝗽𝗽 Feels like it belongs to a different brand 4️⃣ 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 Inconsistent visuals and messaging Result? 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁. Here’s what I told them: You don’t just need design, you need strategic branding that: • Aligns visuals and messaging across all platforms. • Reflects your unique value proposition clearly. • Builds trust with consistency. What we did: ✅ Redesigned their logo to fit across platforms seamlessly. ✅ Unified their UX and brand tone for stronger storytelling. ✅ Created a style guide to keep their visuals cohesive everywhere. Outcome? - Increased customer trust - Better user engagement - 𝟮𝟬% 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁. Your brand deserves more than aesthetics—it needs strategy. Ready to improve your branding? how bad design destroy whole brand 1. **Poor User Experience**: Complicated or confusing design frustrates users, leading to a negative perception of the brand and decreased customer satisfaction. 2. **Inconsistent Branding**: Inconsistency in visual elements, such as logos, colors, and fonts, weakens brand identity and can cause confusion among customers. 3. **Lack of Professionalism**: Amateurish or unpolished design can make a brand appear unprofessional and unreliable, reducing trust and credibility. 4. **Reduced Engagement**: Unattractive or unappealing design can result in lower user engagement and interaction, impacting customer loyalty and sales. 5. **Negative First Impressions**: Since design often forms the first impression, bad design can deter potential customers immediately, leading to lost opportunities. Overall, bad design can erode brand equity, diminish customer trust, and negatively affect a company's bottom line. #graphicdesigner #graphicdesign #design #branding #brand #logodesign

How to Design a Full Brand Identity System? Full brand identity system goes beyond aesthetics. It involves crafting an emotional connection, consistency, and clarity. I’ve seen how a strong brand identity can transform a business. It’s not just about pretty visuals; it’s about creating an experience. Here’s how I build a brand from scratch: 𝟭. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 & 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 Start by understanding the brand's mission, values, target audience, and competitors. This phase sets the foundation for every design choice that follows. 𝟮. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 Develop mood boards, color palettes, typography, and visual concepts that reflect the brand’s personality. It’s all about capturing the essence and vision. 𝟯. 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 A strong logo represents the brand’s identity in a single glance. It’s essential to make it versatile, simple, and meaningful, so it works across different platforms. 𝟰. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 Create a comprehensive style guide that outlines the proper use of logos, color schemes, fonts, imagery, and tone of voice. This ensures consistency across all touchpoints. 𝟱. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 Apply the brand identity to key materials i.e. business cards, brochures, website design, social media visuals, and packaging. This is where the brand starts to come to life. 𝟲. 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Design the website, social media profiles, and email templates to align with the brand. Ensure that the digital experience is seamless and engaging. 𝟳. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 Roll out the brand, gather feedback, and make adjustments. The key to success lies in adapting to how the audience engages with the brand. Colours Colours play a significant role in branding, which is why most major companies use standard colours in their brand logos. 1. Designers understand that colours influence how users perceive and interact with products. 2. When designing websites, logos, or brochures, many designers choose two primary colours to effectively convey their message. 3. Selecting the right colours can elevate a brand or product and enhance its appeal to the target audience, creating more engaging digital experiences. Here’s what different colours typically represent: Red: Strength, energy, and visibility. Orange: Confidence, success, bravery, and excitement. Yellow: Creativity, happiness, warmth, and cheer. Green: Nature, freshness, and calm. Blue: Trust, peace, loyalty, and competence. Black: Security and drama. White: Clarity, simplicity, and honesty. Choosing the right colours is crucial for creating a strong brand identity and connecting effectively with users. #colours #UXUI #Visualdesign #UXResearch #UXtrends
