What a fantastic first day at the Crew Conference in Bucharest! We enjoyed insightful presentations on EU ETS and CII, as well as workshops on intercultural relations. Our evening get-together was the perfect way to wrap up the day. #CrewConference #NordicHamburgCrewingServices #NordicCrew #workshops #gettogether

Translating theory into practice is the focus of DISPAX World 2024’s final session in which Alexandra James of Osprey Flight Solutions, as session moderator, will be introducing two airlines prepared – from opposite ends of the globe – to share their approaches to the application of physical restraints when all else fails. First up will be Air New Zealand. When you're a long way from everywhere, flight attendants must know how to restrain will be the argument Lois Simpson will be making. More importantly, she will be sharing with delegates their approach to training crewmembers to be able to do so effectively. Next up is airBaltic. Diāna Ruka makes the journey from Latvia to Thailand to set out her carrier’s philosophy and mindset when it comes to unruly passenger training, whilst also demonstrating the equipment they deploy and techniques they implement in the worst case scenarios. The session and conference conclude with our conference Chair, Philip Baum, providing a conference wrap-up and questioning delegates what they are going to be differently come next Monday morning! 🌟 Day 2 at the DEI Toolkit Workshop: Deepening our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion 🌟 It's inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and commitment of all participants. We are collectively embarking on a learning and development journey that doesn't just aim to inform but to fundamentally reshape our approach towards fostering an inclusive culture within our industry. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (#DEI) are not just buzzwords; they are essential components of a thriving, innovative, and empathetic workplace. Today's sessions have further underscored the importance of understanding the nuanced experiences and challenges that diverse groups face and highlighted actionable strategies for addressing these challenges head-on. By equipping ourselves with these crucial tools and insights, we're not just advocating for change; we're actively participating in the creation of environments where everyone, regardless of their background, feels valued and empowered. The beauty of our industry lies in its diversity—the myriad of perspectives, skills, and ideas that drive innovation and excellence. The dedication and openness exhibited by everyone involved. The discussions, the willingness to confront uncomfortable truths, and the shared desire to grow are what make these workshops a vital stepping stone towards true inclusivity. Communication is a powerful tool in any organisation, and it becomes even more significant when it engages with DEI. Let's keep this momentum going. The journey may be long, but together, we're paving the way for a more inclusive, equitable, and diverse future. Here's to making every day a learning opportunity and to the profound impact our collective actions will have on our industry and beyond. 💪 #DEIToolkit #DiversityandInclusion #aviall #aviation4all Ambassadors for #DiversityInTransport EUROCONTROL EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency

Developing long-lasting, credible relationship with our clients is important to us. We received some wonderful feedback from Christian Petrona, Chief Operations of All Asia Aviation Academy, who undertook our Report Interpretation Training. Christian went on to say “The APQ is a very useful tool towards providing airlines a clear and reliable means of having a closer look at our submitted candidates. Utilising this assessment is something that we have realised, is an important step towards bridging that “unknown gap” between applicants and airline companies, especially during this initial stage. It provides insight that has a concrete scientific basis allowing us to see areas of improvement and enabling us to be confident that we have made the best decision in considering an applicant to be nominated for assessment. Furthermore, we know that the tool was developed by Symbiotics, and the ease of how the test is administered and how results are delivered and reported is just amazing. We are looking forward to extending this collaboration further in the future, with exciting additions to our offerings coming soon.” See more on our training courses: https://lnkd.in/e8qVx8g6 #partnership #aviation #collaboration #pilottraining

As the skies became more crowded, communication became more important. Everyone in the air needed to be on the same wavelength. Nowadays it doesn't matter where you attend flight school, and no matter where you find employment as a pilot, the language you use to communicate with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and other pilots is English. Without a doubt, speaking English has become increasingly important with the passage of time. Our native teachers can help you speak this language without fear, contact us at info@ogc2go.com to book your FREE language assessment today! #humanresouces #HR #hospitality #onlineeducation #diversityandinclusion

"Human factors have been identified as the key area in which significant gains in safety is possible" I truly believe this and even though BRM training is well established in maritime there is still, I think, a problem with applying that knowledge gained and effectively embedding it into everyday bridge operations. In my opinion, we need more regular training and access to bridge simulation coupled with regular peer led assessments of bridge operations. This is what we are doing at Kilo solutions with our virtual reality bridge simulator. We are able to take the simulator to the seafarer. VASCO is a multi user environment and the individuals making up the bridge team, as well as the instructor, can be located individually at any location in the world with a wifi connection. We are successfully delivering BRM refresher training to clients worldwide. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities to address the human element in bridge operations. #humanfactor #bridgeoperations #VASCO #kilosolutions #brm
Human factors have been identified as the key area in which significant gains in safety is possible. Since 2019, together with leading civil aviation trainers CAE , the UK P&I Club has provided aviation-standard human factors training to its Members. The courses are run at CAE’s global flight training centres: EasyJet Gatwick, Singapore Airlines, JetBlue Orlando and Aegean Airlines, and provide high quality learning materials, which can be used for initial, refresher training or in parts to emphasise particular human behaviour training needs. Upon completion of the 2 day course, participants (ordinarily made up of Members’ training managers, DPAs, senior HSEQs) can sign up and obtain access electronically to the computer based modules and training materials. These materials can then be adopted partly or fully into their existing training programmes. Our next course is at Aegean Airlines, Athens and runs from 18 to 19 November. Places are limited and so if interested please contact my UK Club colleague Captain Konstantinos Karavasilis Thomas Miller
