For this, he relies on a 2-axis loading handling system for CNC processing machines for pipe flanges. The gantry should also be able to be used in a dusty environment with high temperature differences. In addition, the customer's requirements are an increased accuracy requirement for straightness and high system availability. 🌡️ Our recommendation: Use of an SNR linear axis system in steel design with two independently travelling vertical axis. Soft jaws save sanity! Here we are adding a cross hole, a milled feature, and a slot to these components after they come off the lathe. Optimally, we would be doing all of this in one shot on our live tooling lathe, but when it’s tied up with other work - you do what you gotta do! Bending metal sheets to make curves can be achieved using a roll or a bending breaker. While the roll method requires pulling the sheet between three rolls and bringing them closer to each other with a specific diameter but the bending breaker is a better option for creating ununiform curves. Here’s this 4140 PH part after second operation! In first operation, we started with a solid plate, milled the entire part profile and inner features - including the large tight tolerance bore. For second operation, we actually added a press-in plug to that large diameter bore to keep it from flexing from the pressure from the vise jaws (removed for video’s sake!) - decked off the excess material, and finished this part from the back. Next, this will get one last operation to add some tapped holes from the side - these will get hit with an aluminum oxide blast, and they’ll be off to our customer in the rotary transfer industry! _______________ We make excellent parts.
