Modelling the energy transition: FME InterPlay was one of the 8 new research centres that was given the FME plaque in the research councils award ceremony in Oslo this week. The centre aims to model the energy transition and the interplay between energy vectors, the interplay between the energy system and nature and the interplay between the onshore and offshore energy system. We are looking forward to the cooperation. Photo: Forskningsrådet/Thomas Keilman. My first publication in a scientific journal is finally available! For this paper, theoretical analyses and wind tunnel experiments were conducted in the Wind Engineering and Renewable Energy (WiRE) laboratory at EPFL to study the effects of cyclic pitch motion on the power performance and wake characteristics of floating wind turbines. In particular, the wake characteristics are investigated in depth. I am glad to have published in a major journal such as Applied Energy (via Elsevier), with an Impact Factor of 10.1, which ranks among the most important journals in the field of engineering. 🌟 Glad to share our latest review paper published in "Nano Energy" titled "Arbitrary directional triboelectric nanogenerators: Advanced energy harvesting for a sustainable future." This comprehensive review provides an in-depth exploration of recent advancements in arbitrary directional triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) for harvesting energy from various ambient environments. 🔍 We detailed the innovative developments of TENGs capable of energy scavenging in multiple directions—from freely-moving particle TENGs to those powered by wind, rain, and ocean waves, as well as their use in harnessing energy from bio-mechanical motions. The review also includes a SWOT analysis of these systems and highlights the key features crucial for optimizing performance. 🌱 While challenges remain, the potential of arbitrary directional TENGs for high-performance, multifunctional energy solutions is undeniable. We believe this work serves as a pivotal resource for understanding and advancing the field of blue/green renewable energy. Special thanks to Respected Professor Jinho Bae and Dr. Nilesh (Khalifa University) for their invaluable contributions!
