For the 4th year Nylabone hosted a demonstration of the West Winsor New Jersey Police Department K9s detection skills. This year, the West Windsor Police Department is collecting donations for the 11th Annual Operation Bark Drop. Every year, people and businesses donate food and toys, which the officers of the West Windsor New Jersey Police Department collect and sort to be distributed to shelters throughout their area. Many companies and local businesses have made generous monetary donations to support this heartwarming cause. It's an excellent opportunity to give back to the community and help our furry friends in need.

Not all superheroes wear capes. The family of Nancy Anderson considers CeCe Moore to be their superhero, for doing what had been impossible for five decades - identifying their sister’s killer. The Anderson family expressed deep gratitude to CeCe for identifying the man who took their sister from them. To show their appreciation, they are donating all proceeds from the sale of Jack Anderson’s book, The Brittle Riddle, to DNA Justice. These donations help us maintain low to no-cost upload fees for law enforcement Purchase your copy here: https://amzn.to/4bkl77T

Community impact? The primary impact of this firms business model increases homelessness (currently at 10K+ homeless people on any given night) by gentrifying neighborhoods and forcing people who make less money out. "Global day for people and planet" yet the firm musters up 2 small bins of mostly dog and cat food...this doesn't even align. How about taking on projects that actually help to reduce the number of homeless people in the city instead of ones that are for the affluent population and for corporations to profit from. I hope other architecture studios in Toronto can learn from these fake displays of positive community impact. Many studios like this promote themselves as doing good but really at a foundational socio-economic level, they drive some of the biggest problems in the city. #thinkcritically #communityimpact #torontohomeless
Last week we supported Patcraft's Global Day for People and Planet initiative by filling two bins in our Annex with donations for several SPCA locations throughout the city. Great work team! #communityimpact

Why Did GoFundMe Cancel Ontario Woman's Fundraiser Over Water Gun Incident? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gmvWC3kv #GoFundMe #Fundraiser #Ontario #CommunitySupport #WaterGunSaga So here's a bit of drama from Ontario: GoFundMe decided to cancel a fundraiser for a woman who was charged with spraying her neighbor with a water gun. 😲 Let’s break it down: Who: An Ontario woman What: Charged for allegedly spraying her neighbor with a water gun Where: Ontario Why: Fundraiser launched on GoFundMe got pulled It’s a bit surprising, right? People often use these platforms to rally support during tough times, but this situation raises some eyebrows about what's considered acceptable. 🤔 My Thoughts: Awareness vs. Support: While it's great to raise funds for someone in need, should we be supporting actions that, although playful, might cross a line? Community Reactions: This incident ignites conversations about community boundaries and how far humor should go before it becomes problematic. What do you think about GoFundMe stepping in to cancel this fundraiser? Is it fair for them to make that choice? Have you ever been in a situation where a humorous act w...

Camden is a vibrant, multicultural borough, with 45.4% of Camden residents born outside the UK, contributing to its rich diversity, albeit with significant socio-economic challenges: - At 41%, Camden has the second-highest poverty rate in London. - Camden faces the worst housing affordability in the capital. - London’s Black and Asian communities have been disproportionately affected by the cost-of-living crisis. - Over 2 in 5 Bangladeshis and nearly 1 in 3 Black Londoners live in overcrowded housing conditions in Camden, which is considerably higher than the UK average. - There has been a 39% rise in hate crimes all over London in 2023 compared to 2022. Our incredible community researchers are examining the impact of structural racism on housing, education, employment, and safety across the borough. Findings from our research will inform policy recommendations aimed at key development areas, such as enhancing community infrastructure, improving educational quality with better cultural training and diverse curriculum design, and fostering pathways to employment through collaboration with local businesses. Join us in working to address and dismantle racial inequalities in Camden, and creating more just and inclusive communities for all!
It’s a political bus, but not as you know it. Camden Giving and our friends are heading to Birmingham to meet brap to prepare for a Community Assembly on Strucutal Racim in this September.
