This week, we'd like to introduce you to Mattias Nyström, Octant's Partnership Officer! ✨ ⭐ Mattias, what do you do at Octant? At Octant, I focus on partnerships, particularly managing relationships with project representatives who apply for funding. My responsibilities include overseeing the submission process, updating documentation, gathering feedback, and liaising with representatives. Additionally, I engage in community activities such as organizing online calls and offering office hours for one-on-one consultations. ⭐ What’s your favourite thing about what we’re building? I like that there’s such a large variety of projects, it makes it interesting to learn about each one when they apply. Categories of projects include DeSci, climate, open source software / DApps, Universal Basic Income (UBI), Education, and web3 community building. I also like that there’s already a significant number of users and TLV so early on in Octant’s progress, it’s great for getting feedback. Also, it’s nice that Octant gives out funding to public good projects that need it! ⭐ What’s the best thing you’re read/watched recently? I just saw "Challengers" and really got into it. It’s this movie that mixes tennis, love, and all sorts of relationship drama. The main character, Tashi, is kind of a handful—really narcissistic and super manipulative, which honestly made it pretty gripping to watch. ⭐ What are you currently listening to on repeat? Nothing at the moment, though I live right next to a main road, train tracks, and a lake. So I’m listening to a balance of cars, trains, and waves, on repeat. A bit of a blend of natural and urban sounds.

We’re working on a project with the wonderful ReKindle School. We've joined up the brilliant team at Play Verto, who are helping us to gather the views of the communities we are looking to work with. We had a great meeting yesterday, scoping questions for our ‘Community Verto’ survey. One of of these questions, ‘What two aspects of your community do you appreciate or value the most?’, got us, at Northern Soul, thinking about our own communities 🤔 . The physical and online ones we find ourselves in. We’d love to know, how you, the LinkedIn community, would answer this questions on two fronts: 1. In your local physical community where you live - what two aspects do you value? 2. In this, the online LinkedIn community - what two aspects do you value? We’d love to hear your views below 👇

Calling out all community builders! We’re excited to launch the next iteration of Yayem: our software is open to communities, members’ clubs and private networks. Yayem OS (white label) One thing I’ve learned building Yayem over the past 3 years is that we all crave meaningful connections. The world is full of opportunities but we come out stronger with trusted support systems: our school and work alumni, social clubs, professional networks, peer groups. What if our communities followed us wherever we go? So many still live on Slack and WhatsApp - or between 4 walls - yet they’re most needed when we’re away from home. Our features are made for this: geolocation, real time AI-based intros, travel overlap (my fav), in app chat - designed to spark belonging in a boundless world. We’re pulling our resources together to uplift each other and help community builders do what they do best: human connections. Let me know if you’re interested in a product demo 🚀

We've all been there...you launch your course, and the initial excitement fizzles. Members aren't interacting, the community space feels empty, and it's hard to tell if anyone's even getting results. Sound familiar? The thing is, a thriving community is KEY to long-term course success. That's where Circle.so comes in. It's way more than just a forum. Here's why I highly recommend it for course creators: - Ditch the Clutter: Organize discussions, resources, and even live events all in one streamlined space. - Engagement Made Easy: Members can connect directly, tag experts, and get the support they need. - Feels Less Overwhelming: New members don't land in a firehose of old posts – they can find what's relevant to them NOW. The result? Your students build relationships, feel accountable, and are more likely to stick with your program to the finish line. Leave a like if you found this valuable.
