“Supervisor Tip of the Week“ Do you know the importance of setting clear expectations, swim lanes and goals for your team? 🔷If you're taking on the reins of a new team or doing some team alignment, there are a few tricks that you have in your back pocket. 1️⃣ Early on, set clear, achievable expectations for both the team and individual roles. 2️⃣ Having a structured approach to goal-setting, such as the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound), can make it easier for everyone to stay aligned. 3️⃣ Be transparent about your own expectations as well and welcome input from your team. 4️⃣ Provide swim lanes for your team and individuals. This is the boundaries that you are comfortable that the team or individual can safely and effectively complete tasks without any guidance from you. This is empowering for your team and individuals alike and builds a great culture. 🔹 When people know what’s expected, they’re more motivated and less likely to feel confused or overwhelmed, even better if they can operate in interdependence, you will see a rise in discretionary effort if outcomes are recognised. #expectations, #teamculture, #empowering Visit our website https://lnkd.in/esn-37wf and feel free to subscribe to receive these essential tips direct to your inbox.

There is nothing more powerful as a leader you can do for a team member than allow them the autonomy to reach their full potential in a safe learning focused environment.

Strengths Sleigh Ride: A Team Journey Let’s be honest—your team has worked hard all year, pulling a sleigh full of goals and accomplishments across the finish line. This festive activity is a fun way to recognize how your team’s unique CliftonStrengths made it all possible! Objective: Celebrate how team strengths drive success, using a sleigh as a metaphor for teamwork. What You’ll Need: A large poster of a sleigh (or small sleigh printouts for individuals). Stickers or cutouts in the shape of reindeer. How It Works: Label the sleigh with your team’s major shared goals or achievements for the year. Add the Reindeer: Each team member writes one of their strengths on a reindeer cutout. Attach the reindeer to the sleigh, and have each participant explain how their CliftonStrength helped the team achieve its goals. Team Reflection: Discuss how the "team sleigh" moves forward with everyone’s strengths pulling together, and consider how you’ll continue working in sync for the year ahead. This activity celebrates individual contributions while highlighting the power of teamwork—and it’s sure to bring a smile to your team’s holiday celebration!

This month we are keeping the theme of ‘Get ahead of the game whenever possible’ Our focus is to get clear on all the components of our work and put a plan in place to put forth our best efforts. Put our prioritization skills in motion. There’s no “I” in the team, so If scoping and planning out work isn’t your strong suit, seek out others to help you think things through with enough time to maximize the support Here are some ways our Educate team members are using this approach: *Setting calendar reminders at the beginning and end of each week helps keep tasks on track. This ensures both planning ahead and wrapping up tasks are covered, even if one reminder is missed. *When faced with lingering tasks or potential procrastination, taking a moment for reflection is key. *Team members find it helpful to reach out for support or discuss these challenges during regular check-ins. Here’s an excerpt (https://ow.ly/s7HK50QZkF0) from Lead from the Outside: How to Build Your Future and Make Real Change by Stacey Abrams. The writer describes how prioritizing is more like a game of “work-life Jenga.” The phrase “the expectation is not one of balance; it’s one of strategy and of making the best of each move, one block at a time" meaning that each step forward, no matter how small, contributes to our progress and success. Remember: Every action, no matter how small, propels us forward on the path to achieving our goals. This month, let's make the most of every opportunity and strive towards our goals with determination and unity. #GetAhead#GoalSetting#EducateCommunity

Delegating tasks is more than just getting work off your plate—it’s a smart move that can really boost your team’s performance. Here’s how: 💡Grow together: When you delegate, you’re giving your team a chance to learn and grow. They’ll pick up new skills and feel more confident in their roles. 💡Focus on what matters: By passing on tasks, you can focus on the big stuff—like planning for the future. It’s a win-win: your team gets more responsibility, and you get more time to think ahead. 💡Build real trust: Trust is the glue that holds a team together. When you trust your team with important tasks, they feel valued and motivated to do their best. 💡Keep things clear: Good delegation means everyone knows what they’re in charge of. Clear roles and expectations make sure the work gets done right, without any mix-ups. 👉🏻 Finally, when you delegate with an understanding of each person’s strengths, you’re positioning your team for success. Everyone gets to work in their area of expertise, making the team more effective as a whole. In short, delegation is a simple but powerful way to help your team grow and succeed. It’s about working smarter, not harder. 🤝
