Last week, we kicked off 🚀 our journey at No Country for our job simulation project. Here is a brief summary of what we did: 🔹 Group Code: c19-105-ft-data-bi 🔹 Team: 7 members + our Team Leader, Fragoso Valdez Pablo. This is a multicultural team with members from Argentina, Mexico, Paraguay, and Spain. 🔹 First Meeting: We introduced ourselves, shared our experiences and expectations, and agreed to meet at 15:30 (ARG) for our daily meetings. 🔹 Second Meeting: Our Team Leader Pablo presented his experience and methodology. We established regular meetings on Mondays and Thursdays at 15:30 (ARG). 🔹 Third Meeting: We chose the project, assigned roles, and created the GitHub repository. Our goal: to cross-reference data from Airbnb and Yelp to develop a Minimum Viable Product that enhances user experience on these platforms. Continuation! As the days unfolded, so too did the challenges. The culmination of our efforts manifested in the form of a project presentation, where we were tasked with applying our newfound knowledge to solve a real-world problem. Guided by our collective expertise and fueled by our shared passion, we navigated through obstacles, iterated on our ideas, and ultimately delivered a solution that surpassed our expectations. The moment of truth arrived as we stood before our peers and mentors, ready to showcase the fruits of our labor. Though nerves tingled and adrenaline surged, there was an undeniable sense of pride and unity that permeated the room. As each team took the stage, I couldn't help but marvel at the diversity of perspectives, the depth of insights, and the sheer brilliance on display. When the final results were announced, it was with a mixture of exhilaration and humility that we learned of our achievement. Placing third in the project presentation was not merely a testament to our technical prowess, but a validation of our resilience, adaptability, and collective spirit with a personal project at https://lnkd.in/dReHVqyJ. In that moment, I realized that success is not defined by accolades alone, but by the journey undertaken, the lessons learned, and the relationships forged along the way. As I reflect on this transformative experience, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude—to Mr. Teedee for his unwavering guidance, to my colleagues Temitayo Israel Alake and more for their unwavering support, and to The Incubator Nigeria for providing a platform where dreams can take flight. Armed with newfound skills, cherished memories, and a renewed sense of purpose, I eagerly anticipate the next chapter of my journey—a journey fueled by curiosity, fueled by passion, and fueled by the belief that with determination and dedication, anything is possible. The Event That Changed My Life October 13th and 14th will always be memorable in my tech journey. #DataFest Africa transformed my career, and its impact has been profound even after 7 months. Connecting with brilliant minds and attending mind-blowing breakout sessions was a game-changer. This event sparked a mindset shift, giving me a new perspective on my career as a data professional. Hearing the inspiring stories of the speakers, and witnessing their achievements in the data space, motivated me to dream big.
