"Demand planning is a critical and dynamic aspect of any business, especially in the uniform, image apparel, and workwear sectors. Having spent part of my career in demand planning, I’ve come to appreciate the unique blend of skills and knowledge required for this role. A successful demand planner combines analytical prowess, industry insight, strategic thinking, and very thick skin. The first lesson learned is that demand forecasts are inherently imperfect; the goal is to be as accurate as possible and manage variances swiftly. While planning software is essential, it will never replace the need for the human touch." I recently decided to dive into the world of merchandise, thinking it would be a simple and easy to introduce my brand . After all, how hard could it be to create some cool designs and get them printed, right? The truth is, launching a merchandise line is so much more than just making designs. There's sourcing quality materials, finding good suppliers, knowing your timelines of production and managing your inventory well–it's tons of behind-the-scenes work that requires patience, attention to detail, and a really deep understanding of logistics. I am halfway of launching my Merch but the difficulties that i am facing is huge , be it managing plus planning launching your merchandise while working as an HR is something i thought would be not that difficult initially but it requires a lot of self motivation to start something of your own . finding the right manufacturer is one the biggest task for me as of now , finding the right quality product at the desired amount takes a lot of research as well as efforts and is a long process . If everything goes as planned the merchandise will be launched in the first week of December. Patiently waiting for the constructive feedback for the above mentioned plan. 😊

"I can't make it if I don't have the labels!" - every CPG person at some point If you are a brand or a manufacturer, eventually, you are going to get in a tough situation and need something quick. ....One of those Holy $@#% moments! If you work with a large label supplier, you would usually make a call to your saleperson, who then has to get several people involved, maybe a manager or two, or three, have a production meeting, review raw inventory at maybe multiple locations that may or may not have press time. It takes time, it's just how it works at large label companies. If you work with Harmonized Label Solutions, Inc., you call, text or email for help and get a response quickly, sometimes in minutes. Heck, we print and ship jobs quicker than some companies can even get back to you on a rush request date. This happened twice this week already, and will result in millions of dollars in revenue (quicker) for both the Brands and the Co-manufacturers. All because they had a good label guy. Easy to work with Label Company > Large Label Company If you give us a chance to prove this, your job will get easier. Promise. If you are going to #SupplySideWest, maybe we can connect there!

Love for sourcing vs cost of sourcing I have been into sourcing and merchandising since 2008 and I must say that it’s all about attentiveness, awareness and presence of mind. In my entrepreneurial journey I have worked with multiple start up brands and to name a few are Ola Otter , Tiny Allies, FourOz , Arras, Luam, Breakfast Party, Motiq, Indusvale and few more tried with and a few more working with currently. The work or assignment for each of these brands have been different, from creating techpack, sampling or production or all of them. In a lot of cases , sourcing work is required until the client is satisfied. BUT One thing that you never get paid for is - Sourcing. This work needs time to travel, to spend in market , to talk to people , purchase some samples , couriers , plenty of calls and the most important thing is your experience. The client is always or at times ready to pay for physical samples in ready to wear condition, but to reach to that level of choosing what to use on samples, you need to go through extensive digital and physical work, specially when you want smaller MOQ , market based item and shopkeepers not willing to share catalogues. Though exceptions are there in this world and not everyone is not willing to pay the cost of the time , but most of the brands with limited budget wants to calculate on tiny things while not realising the extra cost incurred and not willing to invest. Anyone willing to collaborate from start up brand to mid size brand, are welcome to have a discussion and start with some charisma to create. Kindly DM or email me at Trade@trendsnetra.com as we still do that extensive research based on requirement.
