I was proud to present the prototype of my senior project at the fall CSUS ECS senior showcase event today. Our Biofeedback Assisted Mobility system helps stroke survivors and other mobility-impaired patients recover their walking gait, strength and balance. By processing live data from load cells at each walker foot, the user will be presented with a balance graph to show them how to adjust their posture. Additionally, leaning too much on the walker gives vibration, auditory and light feedback. By allowing the user to set weight limits for how much they rely on the walker, we give patients more control over their recovery and expand physical therapy beyond the clinic. I look forward to presenting the final product in spring!

Check out David Erlinge at #TCT24 discussing the 1 year findings from the INFINITY-SWEDEHEART Trial. 1. Non-inferiority of the Elixir Medical Corporation Dynamics bioadapter to Onyx DES, crucial for market entry. 2. Landmark analysis between 6 to 12 months showed superiority of the bioadapter over traditional stents, especially in subgroups with high restenosis risks, such as patients with lesions in the LAD, small vessels, long lesions, and ACS. The INFINITY-SWEDEHEART trial examines the impact of the Dynamics bioadapter, a device designed to address limitations of traditional drug-eluting stents (DES), which restrict natural coronary artery functions like pulsatility and vasomotion, potentially leading to long-term complications with event rates up to 45%. Unlike conventional DES, the Dynamics bioadapter opens up after 6 months, restoring natural arterial functions (pulsatility, vasomotion, and positive remodeling), which may reduce long-term complications. Ongoing data collection (2-5 years) is essential for understanding long-term impacts. Potential future studies will focus on specific subgroups (e.g., BIPOC, CTO, calcified lesions, and long LAD lesions) to further explore the bioadapter’s benefits. #interventionalcardiology
