And… it’s a wrap! Last week, we had the first hackathon in Briink's history, and hopefully not the last. For three full days, we split into smaller teams and challenged ourselves to build AI tools for sustainability professionals. The outcome? Some seriously cool projects (hello, anti-greenwashing AI agent!) and a ton of lessons that go way beyond the tech. Yes, we worked hard, but we also laughed a lot, shared snacks (including glühwein and some delicious pizza), and embraced the chaos of brainstorming late into the night. Even at a startup, you sometimes miss that mix of fun and focus! To all the other startups out there: If you’ve ever considered hosting a hackathon, do it. It’s not just about the output; it’s about the energy, the creativity, and the bonds you strengthen along the way. What a session! Yesterday marked the kickoff of the 10th edition of our Sandbox Program, featuring a new batch of talented climate tech startups: Aura System, Enline Energy Solutions, Envify, Feigin Electric Group, FuelWell, and Glass-Link. These ambitious founders began by pitching their innovative solutions, receiving feedback to guide them through the upcoming weeks, where they'll fine-tune their storytelling and perfect their pitches. Some key takeaways from today's session? When pitching, it’s essential to clearly define the climate problem—quantify the environmental issue and connect it to real-world consequences. Be sure to simplify the science behind your innovation so everyone, even non-experts, can grasp it quickly. And always show how your solution aligns with corporate sustainability goals—how it helps organizations reduce costs, improve efficiency, or reach net-zero targets. Stay tuned—it’s a long way to November’s Demo Day!

Our biggest challenge in climate tech isn’t innovation—it’s scaling. 📈 Early-stage funding is successfully getting climate startups off the ground, but there is a ‘Valley of Death’ - an absence of later-stage capital that is keeping climate tech startups from getting to scalable infrastructure. At Climate Tech Time, Kim Zou shared how she and her team at Sightline Climate (CTVC) are mapping the future of climate tech funding. During her talk, she shared insights on $142B+ in climate tech investments and 378 active investors in the space.
