Celebrating the grit and unbending spirit of every Nigerian out there, keeping hope alive in the face of daunting challenges and obstacles. This has been our identity - always finding reasons to smile, and creating our own happiness in the middle of storms. Happy Independence Day to us. In the end, everything will be fine. If it's not yet fine, then it's not the end. Hope is what keeps us alive. It's obviously not a strategy, but it can strengthen the mind that births the strategy. Welcome to another New Month. #NewMonth #nigeriaindependence #independenceday #clarylifeglobal

Dear African youth, we are the change makers. Let’s not overlook our potential to impact lives in Africa. By recognizing and treating others with the compassion we seek for ourselves, we can transform our world into a better place. Genuine empathy for the pain and struggles of those around us lays a foundation that fosters kindness and discourages harm. Together, we have the power to tackle pressing challenges like global hunger by fostering a spirit of collaboration and understanding. By uniting our efforts to enhance food production and share resources equitably, we can create a world where everyone has enough to eat. In a time when division and hatred are all too common, let’s consciously choose to cultivate love and acceptance. By embracing our shared humanity, we can bridge the divides that separate us and build a more inclusive, harmonious society. Let’s commit to recognizing each other not as strangers, but as fellow beings deserving of compassion and respect. Together, we can ignite a movement that transforms lives and inspires hope for a brighter future. Through this collective mindset, we can not only alleviate suffering but also create a brighter future for generations to come. Good morning Africa!

As we celebrate Africa-CARICOM Day, it's a powerful reminder of the potential in unity between the AU and CARICOM. The CARICOM Reparations Commission has called for a Second International Decade for People of African Descent, and with good reason. While we've made progress in the global reparations movement, the fight for the recognition, protection, and full respect of the rights of people of African descent is far from over. Strategic partnerships, like those between CARICOM and the AU, are critical in addressing the historical and systemic injustices that persist. As we look ahead to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference this week, it's crucial that Black leaders from across the globe come together with the same energy of unity and action. Now more than ever, we must work across borders to advance the rights and improve the livelihoods of people of African descent worldwide. Let’s keep the momentum going and build stronger, more resilient Black communities. 💪🏾 #AfricaCARICOMDay #Reparations #BlackUnity #PeopleOfAfricanDescent #AfricanUnion #CARICOM #GlobalBlackLeaders #InternationalDecade #HumanRights #CongressionalBlackCaucus #CBCALC

We continue sharing traditional sayings and life lessons in our Voices of our Heritage series as we celebrate the diverse cultural heritage that shapes who we are as South Africans. Next up is Nelisa Shabalala, a Trainee Management Accountant at Hobbs Sinclair, with a beautiful saying that embodies unity and compassion. Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu (in English: I am because you are) This profound saying highlights the interconnectedness of humanity. Stemming from the philosophy of Ubuntu, it’s a reminder that we should lead with empathy, acceptance, forgiveness, and compassion. It’s about recognising the humanity in each other and fostering a spirit of togetherness. Culture: Although in Zulu, this concept is shared among South African cultural groups. #HeritageMonth #Ubuntu #CulturalWisdom #ProudlySouthAfrican

When it comes down to it What we see in our lack of regeneration Is the result of our inability To honour diversity And culture AND our original way and people Regeneration is life Life is what regenerates. We - our role- is as ally to life To allow it to do what it naturally does in the creation cycle. To caretake and support the harmony and flow What we do to ourselves we do to life Our separation from each other and nature and our colonised minds allow us to wedge more distance to where we belong … This Means we aren't able to ally anything Not for humanity not for life Our inability to step out of colonisation is evident in the continued racism and oppression The result being we don’t know how to be ally to life itself and her needs Or how to ally our First Nations people We are so colonised in our way and thinking it runs to our core And it is what prevents us from allowing life to continue With life’s lead As well as what continues our disregard towards Indigenous cultures We now continue with hope of humanity’s mind and invention saving the day Rather than humanity’s heart and intention guiding the way Which would lead us to reconciliation For us to truly understand what it is we need to do our return to sacredness must be a part of our process To honour and accept each other as one To learn how to hold allyship towards our First Nations people will assist us to be ally for life For they are still close to life’s whispers itself Hence why we are to return to ourselves and to their way Reconciliation week has begun. Participate. Learn. Listen. Become strong ally’s It is an act for everyday to begin to truly honour First Nations people and place.
