Carbon Pulse is reporting that the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has awarded full approval to Verra, Gold Standard and Climate Action Reserve meaning their credits will become eligible for use in Phase 1 of the CORSIA aviation emissions reduction program. ✈️ This is great news for those programs - all of which are also approved by The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) - and great news for carbon finance. 🎉 The Great Convergence continues. #ReduceAndInvest See link below.

Really interesting new report out today from UIC - International union of railways #UICrail. It sets out the work needed to future-proof railways in the context of climate change, including the impact of floods, heatwaves, and rising seas. These events place a heavy burden on passengers, supply chains, and railway operators and the report set out some of the solutions that require investment and research. Its an area of work very important to us at the Global Centre Of Rail Excellence. Several scientific uncertainties exist on the non-#CO2 impacts of aviation, one of the most impactful #transport sectors. The #EnvironmentalForum of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) is currently ongoing in Paris. ECAC members, the European Commission #DGCLIMA and #DGMOVE, scientists, stakeholders from the industry and #environmental NGOs are exchanging knowledge to increase their understanding of the non-CO2 impacts of aviation, including the monitoring of non-CO2 emissions and effects of individual #flights, and measures to avoid related negative climate impacts from #aircrafts operations.
