🕵️♂️ Suspecting your child is being exploited can be incredibly distressing. Here's what you can do: 👂 Listen without judgment. Create a safe space for your child to open up about their experiences. It's crucial they feel supported and not blamed. 🔍 Know the signs. Be aware of changes in behaviour, unexplained gifts, or new, older friends. These could indicate something's amiss. 🤝 Seek support. Contact organisations like the NSPCC or use the Child Exploitation and Online Protection command's resources. 🛑 Act promptly. If you believe your child is in immediate danger, contact the police. It's essential to intervene early to prevent further exploitation. 🔗 Visit our website for more guidance on safeguarding children and young people: paragonsocialcare.co.uk #ChildSafety #Safeguarding #SupportServices

The National Child Exploitation Awareness Day aims to highlight the issues surrounding Child Exploitation (CE); encouraging everyone to think, spot and speak out against abuse and adopt a zero-tolerance to adults developing inappropriate relationships with children or children exploiting and abusing their peers. Together, we can work to inform, educate and prevent child abuse through exploitation within the UK. Let's join hands to protect our children and ensure their safety online and offline. Together, we can create awareness, support organisations dedicated to child protection, and advocate for stronger measures against exploitation. Our collective efforts can make a difference in safeguarding the future generation. #ChildProtection #SafetyFirst

Events can be risky environments for everyone, especially children, here’s why: 👉 Crowds: Large crowds pose additional risk for children as they can easily get lost or separated from their parents or caretakers. 👉 Adult Themes: Sometimes events exhibit adult content, and violence, that we’d rather protect our children from. 👉 Alcohol: Having alcohol present anywhere is a risk, but with children the risk becomes heightened and measures need to be taken to ensure nobody underage consumes alcohol. 👉 Accidents: Children are generally harder to spot, making them more accident prone, whether it’s being bumped into or falling over. 👉 Crime: Since they are easily targetable and more vulnerable, children are more susceptible to kidnappings and trafficking. Event organisers can hire experienced external safeguarding teams to mitigate the risk of the inevitability of having children present at their events.
