A few years ago, I attended a management conference in Birmingham. It was a great event: informative sessions, followed by dinner, drinks, and music. However, with 400+ employees driving from the East Anglia and East Midlands offices, the cost to the business in mileage claims alone was over £20k, and the environmental cost was even higher - more than 10,000kg of CO2 emissions. Now, I imagine if just half of those delegates (around 200) had travelled on luxurious executive coaches instead of driving.
