Children and teens are still developing their critical thinking and decision-making skills. They are therefore more susceptible to AI chatbots' persuasive and engaging nature. Many children and teens feel isolated and lonely in today's digital age. AI chatbots can offer a sense of companionship and support, making it difficult to resist the temptation to spend excessive amounts of time interacting with them. Children and teens generally do not have enough life experience to truly appreciate the dangers of sharing personal information with AI. AI chatbot companions are designed to be engaging and rewarding, which is highly addictive. Children and teens may be particularly vulnerable to this, as their brains are still developing, and they may have difficulty regulating their impulses. #thefutureisnow #aichatbots

In this intriguing article in the NY Times, a few older adults who use the AI product express positive feelings about how the AI companion makes them feel less lonely. However, like all technological interventions, there are concerns about data and privacy. Nothing can replace human to human connection. Now there are more each year and that momentum can continue when you vote for the dozens in the panel picker including - Disabling AI: How to Make Machines See Disabled People. Creative technologist, Jason Carmel, and I welcome everyone to attend whether you are a coder, product owner or brand marketer, because an estimated 20% of your audience, workforce and others, have a disability. As we push more into common usage of AIs using models built on unknowable data sets, how can we ensure that this community is seen? We will move through examples of machine learning designed for people in the disabled community, and outline specific steps for AI development that will ensure no one is left behind. Takeaways: Learn the difference between performative and authentic technology, and how the diminished visibility of disabled persons within AI is untenable. What specific steps should I take when developing AI technology or products to avoid ignoring or harming people with disabilities. Improved decision-making and a step forward in simplifying the adjudcation process

A very powerful message where the bottom video is an example of parenting done RIGHT.  This message really hits home about how important it is to connect with our kids. Just look at the child's reactions and expressions in the video below—it shows how THE tight approach to parenting with emotional intelligence. It makes you think about the downside of just handing over a phone or tablet to keep a child busy. Kids miss out on crucial interactions, which can lead to mental health struggles and difficulty handling life's challenges later on. It's a heartfelt reminder for all parents to really be there and engage more with the little ones. Be the change to ensure that your kids are equipped to become healthy and fully humanly functional adults.
