Today is World Environment Day!    This year's theme is land restoration, stopping desertification and building drought resilience. According to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, up to 40% of the planet’s land is degraded, directly affecting half of the world’s population.   Moreover, the number and duration of droughts has increased by 29% since 2000, affecting access to water, among many other climate crisis. We must take urgent action now, because it is OUR LAND and OUR FUTURE!

Land restoration can reverse the creeping tide of land degradation, drought and desertification. Restoration boosts livelihoods, lowers poverty and builds resilience to extreme weather conditions.
