#Missioncancer topics are out, acknowledging the relevance of #1MG, #EHDS, and #EUCAIM initiatives and the need to bridge between them to deliver solutions to one of our greatest challenges. The call text mentions the relevance of European Research infrastructure ELIXIR and BBMRI-ERIC (building on available EU capacity and member states and EC investment in the last ten years), as well as ELIXIR coordinated and participating projects like the European Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI), European Federation for Cancer Images (EUCAIM), EOSC4Cancer, canSERV, and HealthData@EU Pilot. As always, successful and long-term solutions only come from collaboration and cross-discipline approaches that allow for the participation of all actors.
The new #HorizonEU call under the #MissionCancer is out! Funding is available for 6 topics: 🔹 Use cases for the Uncan.eu research data platform 🔹 Support dialogue towards the development of national cancer data nodes 🔹 Accessible and affordable tests to advance early detection of heritable cancers in the EU 🔹 Support of pragmatic clinical trial programme by cancer charities 🔹 Improving the understanding and management of late-effects in adolescents and young adults with cancer 🔹 Information portal for the European Cancer Patient Digital Centre Deadline: 18 September 2024. 💜 Pancreatic Cancer: The Silent Killer with a 12% Survival Rate—It’s Time to Light It Up Purple! 💜 Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers, with a 5-year survival rate of just 12%. This November, Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, we’re asking you to help shine a light—literally. Light up your buildings in purple to raise awareness, fund research, and start the conversations that could save lives. Let’s fight back against this silent killer. Together, we can make a difference. #PancreaticCancerAwareness #LightItPurple #HopeForACure #CancerResearch #PurpleForPancreaticCancer
It’s officially 2 months to go until World Pancreatic Cancer Day and we want to light up the UK more purple than ever before. Whether your home glows purple for all your neighbours to see, or you light up your workplace, join us in putting a spotlight on pancreatic cancer <3 We would love for you to get involved, head to the link in our bio to learn more. In collaboration with Pancreatic Cancer UK and PLANETS Cancer Charity 💜

Contribution towards medical research, especially from patients who are undergoing treatment can be an extremely valuable source for researchers to analyze symptoms, reactions etc. and come up with formulative approaches! Even when we talk about drug trials, at times, people are concerned whether they would be treated like a lab animal, or would it have any side effects. While the concerns are understandable, it is also very important for people to know, that it is only because of the contribution of certain individuals, who participated in trials, because of whom we have access to many treatment options today. Cancer trials have become much safer today and I encourage all my patients to consider participating, after fully evaluating the details and intervention a particular drug is expected to do. #NationalCancerResearchMonth #Cancer #ClinicalTrials #CancerResearch
Would you like to be a partner in progress against cancer? Donating your medical data and samples is just one of many ways to participate in cancer research. Sample and data donations are a critical resource for cancer research because they provide clues to what is going on in the body. https://go.nih.gov/x8ZAUTE #NationalCancerResearchMonth

Improving our understanding of the complexities of children and young people’s cancers is a key priority for Cancer Research UK Science and Innovation and in recent years we’ve been the biggest charitable funder of research into this area in the UK. However, cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease in children and young people in the UK, and we have a collective responsibility to address this. One way Cancer Research UK (CRUK)’s doing this is through the launch of our new Data for Children and Young People’s Cancer pilot awards. The eight awards each offer up to £250,000 in funding and aim to develop new, data-driven solutions to common challenges in children and young people’s cancers. This new funding builds on our research data strategy and supports the charity’s wider long-term strategic objective of putting discovery at the heart of our research. Thanks to our partners – Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and Children with Cancer UK – for supporting these innovative awards. https://lnkd.in/eDmkRGQi
