𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲! Today, we honor the men and women who are currently serving and those who have served—those who answered our nation’s call. Last week, multiple ONEIL locations celebrated and recognized the over 20% of our employees who are veterans. In honor of all veterans, we are making donations from our Helping Hands Committee to Blue Star Mothers, American Legion Post #145, Habitat for Humanity "Vet Builds," and DAV Chapter 17 in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. #VeteransDay #ThankYouForYourService #HireAVeteran

🌟 The Student Veteran Community is Answering the Call 🌟 The response from the Student Veteran community has been nothing short of inspiring, and together, we’re committed to continuing this critical work. Here’s What We’re Doing: 1️⃣ Supporting the Warrior Heritage Foundation: The Warrior Heritage Foundation, the official nonprofit of the LA Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, is partnering with the Red Cross to convert Bob Hope Hall (Patriotic Hall) into a 250-bed shelter for military-connected families displaced by the fires. This effort is personal for us. Members of the Warrior Heritage Foundation are personal friends of ours through the Student Veterans of America (SVA) network. They are putting in tireless effort to serve our community, and this is our chance to directly support real people we know making an incredible impact. 2️⃣ Organizing Cleanup Efforts: Through Recycle For Veterans (RFV), we’re preparing to organize a veteran-led cleanup team to help with environmental restoration once it’s safe to enter the affected areas. How You Can Help: 💸 Financial Donations: Donations to the Warrior Heritage Foundation’s LA Fire Relief Fund will provide resources for housing, meals, and essential supplies for families in need. Every contribution makes a difference. Use the QR code in the flyer or click the link below to donate directly: 🔗 Donate Here 📦 Amazon Wishlist: We’ve created an Amazon wishlist of items specifically requested by the shelter, such as books, board games, and other entertainment supplies to help families on-site. 🔗 Amazon Wishlist 🌿 Join the Cleanup Effort: If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and make an environmental difference, contact Lex Guzman about becoming an RFV Eco Warrior: 📧 lex@recycleforveterans.com Keep the Momentum Going: The incredible dedication and collaboration we’ve seen so far remind us of the power of our community. FIVE WAYS TO COMMEMORATE MEMORIAL DAY Memorial Day is viewed as the official beginning of summer, marked by picnics and BBQs with friends and family. But this holiday was established to set aside time to honor and remember those who died while serving in the U.S. military. In addition to picnics and BBQs, here are five great ways to commemorate Memorial Day this weekend. 1. Attend A Ceremony. Many towns have parades and ceremonies on Memorial Day. Some even conclude with a memorial service. Make time to take advantage of what your town offers. 2. Decorate with Flags. For many years, it has been a tradition to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers with flags on Memorial Day or fly our flag at half-staff from dawn until noon local time. If you have a flag pole, consider joining the tradition this year. 3. Thank A Veteran. While Memorial Day is a time for remembering and honoring our fallen soldiers, it’s also a wonderful time to thank soldiers past and present who are in our midst today. Thank them for their service. If you do not know a veteran or want to do more, write a letter to a veteran or soldier! Check out https://buff.ly/2DhxLZD for more information about writing letters or sending care packages to soldiers currently deployed. 4. Participate in our National Moment of Remembrance. To ensure Memorial Day is the sacred and noble holiday it is intended to be, the National Moment of Remembrance asks us to pause for 1 minute in national unity wherever we are at 3 PM local time on Memorial Day. 5. Buy A Poppy. During the days leading up to Memorial Day, members of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) accept donations for poppies. The poppy’s significance to Memorial Day derives from John McCrae’s poem, “In Flanders Fields.” Disabled and needy veterans in VA hospitals have been assembling Buddy Poppies since 1924. When you purchase a poppy, your donation assists in maintaining state and national rehabilitation and service programs for veterans. #EllenMorano #MemorialDay2024 #Honor #Remembrance #Veterans #FallenSoldiers #ThankYou

On this Veterans Day, we pause to recognize the courage, dedication, and sacrifices made by the men and women who have served our nation in uniform. From past conflicts to present-day service, veterans have embodied the highest ideals of duty, honor, and country. Today, we honor their commitment and express our deepest gratitude for their service. Ways to Honor Veterans: 1.) Attend a Local Veterans Day Event: Many communities host parades, ceremonies, and events. Your presence shows support and respect for veterans and their families. 2.) Share Stories: Take a moment to listen to a veteran’s story or share one on social media. Their experiences are a powerful reminder of the sacrifices they’ve made for our freedoms. 3.)Volunteer or Donate: Consider volunteering at or donating to a veterans’ organization. Your time and contributions can make a meaningful impact on veterans’ lives. Today, and every day, let’s honor those who have served by showing appreciation and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten. Thank you, veterans, for protecting our country and upholding the freedoms we hold dear. #VeteransDay #HonorOurHeroes #Gratitude #ThankYouVeterans #NeverForget

They should use this book at Capstone! Great work, Greg. We need more CJs in the DoD! We owe it to the kids who are reading this book to deliver a viable CJADC2 solution that enables decision advantage for commanders in the next big fight. They will be the ones that suffer if we don’t. #cjadc2
Robert Morrissey and I created Penny the Pentagon, a children's book about the Pentagon's mission, as a fun project to share with our young kids. The Pentagon and the DoD mission have been a part of our lives for over 15 years. Thanks to all of your support, we’ve been able to donate $6,000 to Navy and USMC educational charities. https://lnkd.in/ex3_QRsu As we received feedback about Penny the Pentagon, several people suggested creating a children’s book that explains CJADC2. While we didn’t initially think there would be a large audience of kids for this topic 😊, we decided it would be an interesting project. After many months, we finally finished it. Special thanks to DALL-E for the illustrations! We can’t wait to hear your feedback! We got a lot of CJADC2 inspiration from the following and many more: Chris Scrapper Matt Strohmeyer Joe OCallaghan David Spirk Shyam Sankar Madeline Zimmerman Akash J. John Waterston Justin Fanelli Alex O'Toole Cody Ferguson Alaleh Jenkins Kathleen M. David Norquist Jane Overslaugh Rathbun Alfred H. Artem Nesterko Randal Cole Alicia Scott David Magjuka Shannon Boykin Markus Rogers Michael LeBreton Charleen L. Daniel Leventry #dod #cjadc2 #army #navy #usmc #airforce #logistics #spaceforce
