Sustainable tourism is possible

This is a great overview of some of the policy decisions destinations have implemented to help promote responsible and sustainable tourism. Many destinations I speak with increasingly want to prioritize residents' values so that tourism remains a net positive for the community instead a burden.

Definitely a step in the right direction. Such practices will change habits eventually. In Indonesia, tourist can take an educational tour where them will be given many valuable information about mangrove. Besides Bali and the five new tourism destinations, Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara, will be developed as a new tourist destination. The concept of sustainable tourism development is accommodated in the Indonesia Tourism Law, where social and economic benefits may be derived from tourism area without destructing the environment and local cultures. Tourist behavior and code of ethics of tourism form an integral part in realization of sustainable development. In order to enhance management quality, volume of tourists’ visit, length of stay, tourists’ expenditures as well as benefits for local community.
