Do it scared, they say... And that’s exactly what I did with Brielle’s End of the Year Sales - even with imposter syndrome tagging along. Convention expo halls can be more than just a good time—they're a place to experience new things and make meaningful connections. Every convention I've attended has sparked a new friendship or business relationship, often right there in the expo hall. This year at Inman, there was an unconventional vendor that became the talk of the expo hall— Last Crumb Cookies 🍪. I discovered them at Inman Connect Las Vegas in July, and let me tell you, the cookies, the people, and their branding are absolutely top-notch. Plus, they offer some very cool ways to customize packaging for client appreciation gifts. While there are minimums and steps involved, it’s worth it! When these cookies arrive at our house, it's a battle with Rhett for the Birthday Cake cookie—he usually wins, and then the cookie mysteriously disappears! After reading this article on LVMH’s decreasing #champagne sales, my inner brand strategist got to work instantly. Is this an opportunity to shift the perception of champagne being reserved only for grand celebrations to being a symbol of acknowledging and celebrating everyday achievements? How about designing a #marketingcampaign called, “Pop the Little Joys”? Case Study: Tony's Chocolonely | Random Acts of Kindness 🍫 The Highlights 📍 9 locations across London 👥 14,000 recipients 🍫 14,000+ guilt-free chocolate bars ✅ 1 successful partnership The Breakdown 🎯 Our objective: Spread joy, create noise, increase brand awareness, and make an emotional impact. ❓The challenges: Firstly, we didn’t *just* want to create a memorable activation for the general public. No. We wanted Tony’s unique brand values and ethos to shine through. We wanted it to be the star of the show. Chocolate? Sure, great. But Tony’s? Ethically conscious, principled, slave-free, and totally determined to making the world of chocolate a better one—we wanted to bring that spirit through. Secondly, time. We had just one month from briefing to delivery activation. So, what did we do? 💡 Our idea: A meticulously planned campaign of kindness. Simultaneously, across multiple spots in the City of London, we’d flood the streets with treats to lift people’s spirits and bring attention to Tony’s cause. Our team went to the streets armed with over 14,000 (yes, you read that right) ethical and *delicious* chocolate bars to giveaway. Relationships we’ve cultivated over the years and our insider knowledge of London venues meant we could act fast and effectively. 📈 The results Externally, thousands of happy individuals, a spike in brand awareness and positive feedback via social media.
