Great post. So seldom seen in our current world. Your long term employees carry the company DNA and either celebrate how they were valued or feel like an orphan that has severed the family cord. A someone on a Friday and a no one on the Monday. Off-boarding should be as important as on-boarding. Valuable for the company reputation and the human being. In our 6-month Next Chapter Program we see fear turn to hope. You may have many years ahead. Why not prepare them by empowering them as the take up the baton. Just as important is that the employee is ready to take the baton, grow and celebrate what I call the “gift season” in a longevity world.
Rewarding loyalty and contribution is important as a sign of gratitude but also to set the tone from the top. I’ve had great farewells and no farewells. These actions make a huge impact. It permeates the smell of the place. Authentic leadership in action is my MTN farewell in 2018 exactly 6 years ago today in the executive dining room with the Group CEO and my entire team. That was class. Thank you David Gilarranz who said that we should carry out our hero’s on our shoulders! And with a goodie bag of cycling kit.

As the end of the year approaches, I get to look back on the year we’ve had as a business and all the people that made it happen. Staff lunches, having a laugh with your team, and words of encouragement are all ways to share gratitude. On behalf of me and my family, I’d like to thank the RASHAYS team for the year we’ve had and everything that’s gone into our achievements. Celebrating isn’t just about acknowledgement—it’s about saying thank you, reinforcing our shared goals, and creating memories that inspire us for the year ahead. It’s in these moments of gratitude and connection that we build stronger teams and set the stage for even greater success. 👉 I’d love to hear: How do you and your team celebrate your achievements? Drop your favorite team traditions or end-of-year rituals in the comments below! Ours is a staff lunch made by our very own chefs 🧡 Here’s to celebrating the wins and the people who make them possible. 🥂💪 #EndOfYearCelebrations #Teamwork #Gratitude #Leadership

🎄 When Christmas inspires me about leadership… 😄🎄 During this festive season, I couldn’t help but notice some amusing parallels between Christmas and leadership (some might recognize themselves 😉): 🎅 Santa Claus? A leader who knows how to delegate while getting involved. He sets a clear vision (delivering gifts) and works hand in hand with his elves to ensure everything is ready on time. It’s true teamwork—because even the sleigh doesn’t load itself! 🛷 The sleigh? A team that moves forward despite challenges. A good leader guides their team in the right direction, even through storms… and sometimes pulls the sleigh alongside them to lead by example. 🎁 The magic of Christmas? Celebrating successes. In the end, what really matters is recognizing everyone’s efforts and sharing achievements (with a cup of hot chocolate, of course 🍫). As for me, I try to apply these lessons every day, keeping the Christmas spirit as a source of inspiration. May this festive season bring you: ✨ A united team to overcome every challenge, ✨ Successes to celebrate with pride, ✨ And a sprinkle of magic to start 2025 on the right foot. Merry Christmas to all! 🎄 #Christmas #Leadership #Humor #HolidayWishes

November is the season of gratitude, and there’s so much I’m thankful for—especially my journey at Pella Corporation. Working in the Finance IT team, I’ve experienced firsthand what it means to work at a company that truly cares about its people. A big shoutout to my manager, Sarah Kroes, and her former boss, Praveen Mohan. Their leadership goes beyond metrics and projects. They genuinely care about their team members’ growth, success, and well-being. It’s rare to find leaders who encourage you to not just excel in your role but to dream bigger and help you reach those dreams. At Pella Corporation, it’s not just about building quality windows and doors; it’s about building a caring culture. A culture where teamwork and empathy are as important as innovation. This makes every day here rewarding. To my network: If you’re looking for a place where you can grow professionally while being surrounded by people who truly care, Pella might just be your next chapter. Feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share more about why I think this is such a special place. Lastly, I want to ask: Who are you thankful for this season? Let’s spread a little more positivity and gratitude. Franklin Makia Deven S. Dr. Ade Akinrinola Dani B. Kayode (CISA) Barbara Tisi Mohit Gurnani #ThankfulAtWork #WeArePella #PellaCulture

Leadership is a lot like a Thanksgiving dinner: 1- Start with a clear vision (your recipe for success). 2 - Empower your team with clear roles and responsibilities - because too many cooks can spoil the gravy. 3 - And when things go sideways (burnt turkey, anyone?), it’s all about quick thinking and turning challenges into wins. Creativity and curiosity? That’s the new dish you dared to test on your guests, hoping it becomes the next family favorite. At the heart of it all is ensuring everyone has a seat at the table, ready to contribute bold ideas and fresh perspectives that turn good into unforgettable. What’s your boldest Thanksgiving save or wildest leadership experiment that paid off?

5 years ago we had an amazing leadership offsite during my time at Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling and I am so grateful for my experience there and this incredible excercise we did as a team. We were given a stack of post-it notes and a blank piece of paper taped on our back. Each person was to write down one word of how we viewed the other person(s) in our group and tape it to their back. When we were told to look at our final results…..WOW! I definitely remember some folks showing happy tears! Allison Michels thank you for this impactful moment! Despite how I may have felt about myself as a new-ish CPG sales leader/peer, these were kind reminders of how others viewed me at some point during my time there. So often, our beliefs about ourselves do not match others’ perception of us. You could just feel the positivity take over the entire room. It was magical! A true culture shift! I snapped this pic to remind myself to always focus on the positives and know the impact I (can) make. Thank you to my former peers for these kind words and know that they will always be cherished! Not everyone is going to like you. Not everyone is going to help you. Not everyone is going to see your perspective….and that’s okay! Don’t beat yourself up. Be confident! Be the leader you know you are and can be! If you are a team leader, I would encourage you to try this excercise with your team. You have nothing to lose and only positive momentum to gain!

🌟 Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🦃 Thanksgiving is a wonderful reminder to pause and reflect on all that we’re grateful for. Here are three things we should all take a moment to appreciate: 1️⃣ Opportunities – Life presents us with countless opportunities every day. Let’s recognise, embrace, and celebrate them. 2️⃣ People – Be thankful for everyone in your life—the good, the bad, and even the challenging ones. Each person plays a role in shaping who we are today. 3️⃣ Experiences – Cherish all the experiences you’ve had, without labelling them as good or bad. Every experience is a stepping stone to a brighter, better future. As we celebrate this day of gratitude, let’s carry these reflections forward in our daily lives. If you’re looking to foster gratitude, resilience, and growth within your team, I’d love to help! Contact me to organise an in-house leadership workshop and inspire your team to unlock their full potential. Wishing you and your loved ones a warm, joyful, and fulfilling Thanksgiving! #Gratitude #Thanksgiving #LeadershipDevelopment #Workshops #Thankful

Do you know how chocolates are made? 🍫 I had the opportunity to visit a chocolate factory last month. This is definitely a level up from my visit to the Ritter Sport Chocolate Museum in Germany 🇩🇪 many years ago. 🍫 I saw how chocolate is made (in action) 🍫 I made/designed my own chocolate bar 🍫 … and more importantly, I gained better appreciation for one of my favorite foods. 😋 (Next, I’d love to visit a cacao farm🇵🇭 and give a big thank you to the farmers! 🌱) This experience reminded me of how getting a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes stories gives us deeper appreciation of things we usually take for granted. This applies also to PEOPLE. In team coaching sessions and workshops I’ve conducted, participants who have known each other for years, would thank me for the opportunity to build stronger and deeper relationships with their peers and leaders through our activities. Often, we’re too focused on people’s highlight reels 🎞️ and just keep things shallow because after all, “it’s just work.” But we fail to realize that getting a glimpse of their behind-the-scenes stories allows us to appreciate each other more 💖, build strong connections and work better together. 🤝 What or whose behind-the-scenes stories are you most inspired by? #LeadershipCoach #LeadershipDevelopment #CareerCoach

I wanted to highlight one of my Executives, Claudia Lechado . I was observing her run our trailer today, and I just had a proud moment. We hired Claudia for my Small Format store a few years ago as the Food & Beverage Team Leader. We had to learn each other, and our leadership styles. One thing I always appreciated about her was that she knew how to provide feedback, but she always took feedback and was accountable when it was warranted. She ran an amazing department, and developed a passionate team. When I left Coral Gables and took this assignment, I learned the Executive for General Merchandise & Food recently resigned. I knew I needed a leader that would be a fighter, and could make things happen. I immediately thought of Claudia- and shortly after she promoted and joined the team. It was painful at times, as she would agree. It still has its challenging days. However, fast forward a year and a half. Claudia is getting trailers done in record times. Backrooms are almost fully categorized. Her digital performance is the best in our market, and at times the top percentile in the group. Brand is consistent every single morning, Food is winning over our guest in the neighborhood with double digit comps exploding past the competition, and now she’s layering on things like liability 100% out of the backroom every week, while ehancing our workload execution through her GM Team Leaders new ownership. My dream is to turn a store around to eventually run on auto pilot. With the right leaders, it’s possible. I think a big takeaway for Claudia is that everything is possible by having the right TEAM & structure. Keep it up Claudia. Keep enhancing your team, build future talent, and create a life for yourself that you fought hard for. #ProudLeader #worksomewhereyoulove #development #growth
