Going deep is a game-changer. But only if you’ve got the right tools. 🎯 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 are on everyone’s lips right now – and it’s easy to see why. Drop your fish 30m below the surface and you’re drastically cutting lice pressure, while giving your fish the perfect environment to thrive. Classic win-win, right? But here’s the catch: when your fish are hanging out that deep, keeping track of their health and behavior suddenly becomes a lot tougher. Out of sight, out of mind? At last week's NCE Aquatech Cluster conference, we were invited to go deeper (pun intended) into this very topic. Our CEO, Sven, led a discussion on how submerged operations can revolutionize fish farming – and why having the right tools is absolutely key. Here are 3 key takeaways from his talk: 🐟 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 – especially when your fish is deeper down. You need to stay in control. 🔍 𝐍𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬 – with the right tech, your numbers are scientifically validated and reliable. 📈 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 closely to ensure feeding is optimized. Now, you’re probably wondering: “What’s the right tool for going deep?” Well, as a leader in the field, our precision-trained bioscope has been keeping an eye on fish at depth for years. We've been helping fish farmers delivering real-time, precise data on fish health, lice counts, swimming behavior, and much more – all without lifting a finger (or a pen). 𝐒𝐨, 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐦 𝐢𝐭 𝐮𝐩: it’s easier than you think to have full control, even when your fish are out of sight. But you need the right tech. And with our expertise in submerged operations, you can trust that we’ve got the best tools for the job. Reach out if you want to take submerged operations to the next level. We’d love to show you how OptoScale can make it happen 😊 #SubmergedOperations #DeepFishFarming #AquaTech #SmartCamera #OptoScale

And that’s a wrap for LambEx Australia 2024! Great to catch up on all the latest tech, innovation, challenges and opportunities in the Lamb ag and processing space. An incredibly insightful, collaborative and fun show with a record number of attendees consuming a total of 1.1 metric tonnes of lamb in 2.5 days!! Jessica Schoonderwaldt and I talked all things eID, eNVD, AI, Scope 3, X-Ray and more and how Foods Connected Ltd can work with these emerging technologies to provide visibility, improvement and compliance into this brave new world. Top 3 highlights from the event: 🧬 Animal traceability is evolving, and it’s evolving FAST. The evolution of eID’s and AI has allowed trace exercises to go next level. Imagine a world where single animal traceability could track primals through the boning room and still retain linkage to the original ear tag off the live animal 🤯 👨🌾 Farming is the first line of defence in human nutrition. Anneline Padayachee [PhD] talked us through how important good farming is for overall human health, and then we spoke to countless people about how traceability will almost certainly include individual animal feeding metrics in the near future. Through eIDs and good data collection/storage this is 100% happening soon if not already in some spaces. 🤖 AI isn’t just for Skynet’s world domination and the introduction of terminators, it can be used for good too! Using AI to complete visual product checks including grading, sizing, counting and categorising everything from tiny seeds to whole animals is here now and it is impressive! The Grandslamb Gala Dinner was a sensational evening of laughs, Lambs and great conversations led by the brilliant poet and orator Rupert McCall. They also had Brad Blaze paint some sensational speed paintings including one of the Father of LambEx, Dawson Bradford. A fitting tribute to a great industry advocate! Lastly a huge thanks to Samuel Burke and the food team at Meat & Livestock Australia for keeping us extremely well fed for the week. The traditional Hāngī featuring whole lambs cooked overnight on Wednesday and served for breakky Thursday was a particular highlight for me! A lambtastic time had by all, and a great insight into the positive future for the industry that “built Australia on a sheep’s back” #lambex #tradeshowseason #seasonfinale #RADelaide #saas #meatprocessing

The lack of field monitoring technology has been a major barrier to understanding pollinator behavior. That was, until now. 🐝🌱 Our in-field sensors use audio techniques to detect bee activity and provide continuous real-time remote monitoring every half-second throughout the crop bloom period. 🌸🔍 Here's how it works: 📡 Sensors are distributed throughout the field, enabling spatial analysis of bee activity across different plant varieties and male/female plants. 📊 Our research program includes scales and pollen traps on the hives, manual observations of flower visitation, and assessments of seed set. This helps us correlate sensor data with actual bee activity, ensuring accuracy and reliability. That means growers can see exactly where and how their bees are working in real time. So, they can make sure they're making the most of pollination season. 📈 P.S. Here's George Clouston, Head of Scientific Strategy at BeeHero, who played a seminal role in bringing our PIP solution to market. #pollinators #precisionagriculture #smartfarming #BeeHero #savethebees #thoughtleadership #agtech #climatetech #sustainableagriculture #globalfoodsecurity

Discover how Sentera’s advanced 65R sensors are revolutionizing weed scouting. Our dual-mounted 65R sensors, used in combination with our innovative Direct Georeferencing (DGR) system, deliver precise, geolocated data with unmatched productivity. The dual 65R sensors together generate 130 total megapixels of crisp, global shutter imagery, captured at up to three frames per second. When paired with the Sentera DGR package, which offers a suite of high-accuracy sensors for camera location, pose, and range to scene, each captured pixel can be accurately projected to a location without lengthy post processing. The result is unparalleled productivity in high-resolution mapping and detection workflows. With the upcoming Aerial WeedScout application, the dual 65R + DGR system is employed to deliver 1.5mm GSD imagery that will be used to find and map ¼” and larger weeds at a rate of 80 acres per hour. Precise weed locations are mapped without ground control references or stitching, then used to selectively target weeds, ensuring reduced chemistry costs, healthier crops, and higher yields.
