September 11, 2024 The border crisis has been moved, by the Biden/Harris Administration, across America to your state where your state tax dollars will have to deal with all the medical, hospital, educational, housing, crime and other costs for the millions of illegals. An army of terrorist “gotaways” are now in America. An estimated 100,000 gotaways a month, 1,200,000 a year. Are they criminals, sex predators, mentally ill, human traffickers, gang members, drug cartel members, terrorists or sleeper cells? An army of terrorists now in America will make the 911 World Trade Center look like a warm-up and no one is paying attention! Only 19 terrorists to take out the World Trade Center and we have over one million, per year, “gotaways” that crossed the border. Just think what 190,000 terrorists will be able to do. The border and America are not secure. Our cities are not safe. America is not safe.
Today, we remember the immense sacrifices made on September 11th, a day that forever changed our nation. We honor the bravery of the first responders, the strength of the survivors, and the memory of those who perished. On this Patriot Day, let us stand together in unity, as we always have, to remember and to proclaim: Never Forget.

Honoring Remembrance Sunday and Veterans Day: Learning from the Past to Shape the Future As we observe Remembrance Sunday today and look ahead to Veterans Day tomorrow, we’re reminded of the profound courage, sacrifice, and service that have shaped our nations. These days are more than moments of remembrance—they’re calls to honor the past by contributing to a better future. This year, these observances coincide with election week, a time when we make choices that will define the next chapter of our shared story. Just as those we remember fought for freedom and unity, we, too, have a role in carrying those values forward. The privilege of democracy gives us a chance to reflect on the lessons of the past and shape a future that honors the sacrifices made. Today and tomorrow, let’s pause to reflect on those who have served, and think about how we can honor their legacy. How can we bring the values of resilience, commitment, and unity into our choices this week—and into the world we’re building? To all who have served and continue to serve, thank you. Your sacrifices inspire us to strive for a future worthy of the freedoms you have protected.

As we celebrate our nation’s Declaration of Independence that happened 248 years ago, CONSIDER THIS: The American flag does NOT fly because it represents one political party or another. Our flag and this holiday are a reminder of founding fathers and brave soldiers who fought for our nation’s INDEPENDENCE and the FREEDOM to self-govern under GENUINE DEMOCRACY. It is a reminder for ALL races of our nation’s enduring commitment to JUSTICE, LIBERTY, and the importance of INTEGRITY (in the public eye and behind closed doors). As we navigate the complexities of these times, may we ALL choose to engage in encouraging THOUGHTFUL reflection and DIALOGUE instead of divisiveness. As our pledge of allegiance says: We are ONE nation under God. Isn’t time we started acting like that? . . . #July4th #Independence #OneNationUnderGod

Outstanding leadership in Virginia elevating one of the most important issues for veterans who have become entangled with the very sticky justice system. Identifying veterans (JLC 2025-01) at the earliest instance can help deflect or divert the veteran from a life of continual court hearings to treatment and accountability for their actions. The Veterans Justice Commission at the Council on Criminal Justice made this their first recommendation two years ago. Read more here to learn about the struggles with identification and the proper way to define Justice involved veterans in order to stop them from falling through the cracks. https://lnkd.in/gYpB2gaz Elizabeth McCoy Danny Murphy Lindsey Kirchhoff

Dear Virginia veterans, Tomorrow is the Joint Leadership Council of Veterans Service Organizations' "Day on the Hill" with the General Assembly in Richmond. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk JLC 2025-05 Women Veterans Day *Establish June 12th as Women Veterans Day in Virginia to honor the significant contributions and sacrifices of women veterans For more details, please follow the link below (scroll to JLC 2025 Initiatives). Actions always speaks louder than words
As a veteran, nothing infuriates me more than seeing how these two presidents chose to honor the 13 American soldiers killed in Afghanistan. On one side, Biden is lying on a beach in California, seemingly indifferent, during one of his countless vacations. On the other, Trump is at Arlington National Cemetery, standing among the graves of those who gave everything for our country. Biden ignored advice about the withdrawal, a decision that led to the deaths of those soldiers, and now he’s lounging without a care in the world. It’s a slap in the face to every service member who knows the weight of sacrifice. Meanwhile, Trump, who initiated the withdrawal but wasn’t in office when the chaos unfolded, is showing the respect these heroes deserve, standing in solemn tribute at Arlington. It’s a stark contrast that speaks volumes about their leadership and priorities. One appears disconnected from the pain of loss, the other deeply connected to the honor and respect our fallen deserve. As a veteran, this difference couldn’t be more upsetting.

True leaders can be identified by what they do, more than what they say…
