Through Policing-Free Schools I see the ways that police and policing institutions insatiably seek out proximity to, access and contact with children and youth. This access and contact with children and youth for many young people IS ADVERSE POLICE CONTACT and harm shows up in multiple ways. #Polooming (Police + Grooming) is one of those ways. Rather than safeguarding children and youth—many including elected officials, schooling spaces, administrators, non-profits, charities, organizations etc. create and feed pathways for police access to young people. There are multiple best harm reduction methods, reach out to and connect with us—email: connect@policingfreeschools.ca #PolicingFreeSchools

Why Black Churches Matter: Embracing Modern Fundraising Techniques for a Sustainable Future (Part 1) Black churches have long been the cornerstone of their communities, providing spiritual guidance, social support, education, and advocacy. However, these institutions are facing unprecedented challenges. Across the United States, churches are closing at an alarming rate, with Black churches disproportionately affected. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated these closures due to declining attendance and financial instability. To secure their future and continue their essential work, it is more crucial than ever for Black ministries to adopt modern fundraising techniques, including major and planned giving strategies. This is why our mission is to use modern fundraising to help Black ministries thrive. Still passing the plate to raise funds? Be bold, take risks, make a commitment, identify a deadline, and get out of your prison. Dan Pallotta, author of Uncharitable, highlights the struggles with non-profits, the way we think, and how donors view overhead. We are put into a box, a prison, unable to escape because of the ideology created around non-profits. Huge thanks to The Abraham House for bringing Dan to our area to hear firsthand how we take action. Choose to be bold and dare to dream bigger. Become organized to better solve the problems within our community. We need to come together, collaborate, and become committed to taking action! #BeBOLD
