How important is safety in your private jet operation? Its the top priority, right? But, without an objective, data-driven understanding of how your aircraft is actually flown, your safety management system might be incomplete. FOQA (Flight Operations Quality Assurance) or FDM (Flight Data Monitoring) is an essential step in the safety feedback loop. It is the process of capturing and analysing Flight Data Recorder data to identify potential risks and proactively prevent accidents. This could be through updates to standard operating procedures, crew training or maintenance tasks. Appointing an independent "Gatekeeper" to complete analysis alongside flight schedules eliminates the possibility for internal conflicts of interests and helps to maintain a just culture. Get in touch to discuss implementing your FOQA program and appointing Gatehouse as your independent FOQA Gatekeeper. #aviationsafety #businessjet #privatejet

ETSDC offers GMDSS – GOC course intended for OIC’s/ Deck Officers, Radio Operators and other personnel assigned to the radio communication functions for all types of vessels like; Passenger or Cruise ship, Cargo ship, Tanker vessels, Sailing yacht, and Offshore rigs/or drilling vessel units. A learner successfully completing this course and passing the prescribed examination should be able to operate efficiently the GMDSS equipment required to be fitted in sea areas A1, A2, A3 and A4, and to have primary responsibility for radio communications during distress, urgency, safety and routine incidents. Given the severe problems being experienced in the GMDSS as a result of the large number of false distress alerts that occur, training will also be provided in techniques to avoid the unintentional transmission of false distress alerts and the procedures to use in order to mitigate the effects of false distress alerts following unintentional transmission. This course is accredited by UAE MOEI – FMA, The Republic of Liberia and Marshall Islands. On watch, experience counts. When you’re on watch, the safety of the crew, passengers and the vessel is in your hands. That’s why you must be experienced, appropriately certificated and competent in your ability of using all onboard navigational equipment. A deck watchkeeper must understand their role and responsibilities and be provided with a handover prior to undertaking this important duty. For the safety of everyone onboard, only an appropriately certificated person with the right skills and experience can be in charge of a navigational watch – this is not a new requirement. Helicopter Pilot Boarding in Beaumont,USA. In the video below, which I personally recorded in Beaumont, USA, you'll see a pilot boarding a vessel via helicopter. While pilots typically board vessels using a pilot boat, there are situations where this method is not feasible or safe due to strong winds, rough seas, or other challenging conditions. In such cases, the use of a helicopter becomes necessary. This approach not only ensures the pilot's safety but also allows for more efficient boarding when the vessel is far from the coastline, or when the complexity of the port requires it. Pilot boarding arrangements are crucial for the safety of pilots, who put their lives at risk with each boarding operation. It is the responsibility of the ship's officers and masters to prioritize the safety of the pilots by adhering strictly to all relevant regulations and best practices. Proper boarding arrangements and vigilance can make a significant difference in ensuring that these operations are conducted safely and efficiently. This video is a reminder of the critical role that safe and reliable pilot boarding arrangements play in maritime operations. Whether by pilot boat or helicopter, the goal remains the same: to protect the lives of those who guide our vessels safely into port.

June 4, 2024 BPIAA Counterpoint | Possible Federal Job Opportunity Being upfront, I am posting these “possible” federal job opportunities with the Federal Aviation Administration even though I can attest FAA is an anti-civil rights and anti-equal employment opportunity federal agencies that relishes in the underrepresentation of African American Females and Males in their Mission Critical Occupations! History of disparate treatment, adverse impact, and patterns or practices of unlawful discrimination prove me being truthful! Nevertheless, in Our brutal and deadly battles for civil rights and equality and the fight against segregation and Jim Crow, Our People put their lives on the line and paid a heavy cost to gain civil rights, equality in employment and jobs, housing, and voting…to not have to sit in the back of the bus! So apply Sisters and Brothers…but be aware of the anti-Black attitudes and sentiments of FAA’s predominantly Caucasian workforce! Don’t blindly believe FAA is an equal opportunity employer…that’s a false claim! Unity and Peace!
