Why forest bathing is essential for well-being in modern, city life? My new ( second 😊 ) article about forest bathing, its mental, physical, emotional and social benefits, how a walk unfolds and where you can easily access the practice in Basel has now out with You Belong in Basel . A gentle, guided walk, a sensory experience that forest bathing offers is a true antidote to the stressful, running, overworked and overloaded city life. Thankfully we can tap into the healing power of nature anywhere, any small or large green patch, a tree-lined avenue, a river bank gives the perfect background for finding peace of mind and relaxation even in a city such as #Basel. A guided experience helps you find deeper connection to your surroundings and yourself. Attuning to a slower presence cultivates a sense of calm. A break that your running mind definitely needs and deserves as often as possible. Read and learn more about this understandably fast- spreading well-being trend that is accessible in Basel too, and allow space for your own self-care and exploration. Alex:I can't believe we're finally in Switzerland! It's so beautiful and peaceful here. Jordan: I know, right? The lakes, the mountains, and those charming little villages—it's like a postcard everywhere you look. Sam:It's not just the scenery. Switzerland has such a high quality of life. Everything feels so calm and organized. Alex: True. Their public services are top-notch, and they have such political stability. No wonder it's so orderly. Jordan: Plus, the cities are so clean and well-planned. Public transportation is a breeze. I can see why people here don't seem stressed out. Sam:And they really prioritize work-life balance. Great healthcare, excellent education—it's like everything here is designed to keep stress levels low. Alex: And let's not forget the outdoor activities! Hiking, skiing, cycling... no wonder everyone looks so healthy and happy. Jordan: Yeah, it's like the perfect blend of nature and good living. Makes you want to move here, doesn't it? Sam: Definitely. Switzerland is living up to its reputation for calmness, that's for sure.

If we talk about humans, we need sunlight, water, and bees for pollination like a flower. In 2020, faced with a pandemic, we adapted to the new norm. For those fortunate enough to continue working from the comfort of their homes, virtual meeting platforms became the norm. I was fortunate to work for SkyCare Global, which was ahead of the times and encouraged “Bleisure trips” (the term didn’t exist in 2020; we just called: take your laptop with you). During those isolating months, the only ray of sunshine was envisioning myself in Italy. When the borders reopened in Europe, I packed my suitcases and left. At the Miami Airport, I saw a massive line of people outside a “massage salon” and thought: “Wao, everyone wants a massage.” I learned quickly that we must take a rapid antigen test before boarding the plane. I arrived in Italy for the first time in my life. One of my former bosses and friend, Mattia, picked me up in Milan; he was the best host. I met his friends and enjoyed an Italian croissant and espresso. The next day, I went on my solo trip to visit “Firenze.” I love how it sounds in Italian—I had dinner with my Italian friend from university in Gran Canaria, Pietro, his wife, and kids. I continued my trip to Rome to meet another college friend, Angelica. She took me to the most beautiful places in Rome, and I got lost in the streets, the smells, and the good Italian food. I continued by bus to Naples and visited my wonderful friend Anna and her family. She now has a beautiful family of her own. We talked about Italian labor law and her newly opened legal practice. Her sister was running for major, and I enjoyed learning about their concerns and aspirations for their community. I'm an observer who respectfully listens and learns. I ate surrounded by a big Napoli family and tasted mozzarella. In Spain, Anna used to describe the taste of mozzarella to me. Complaining it didn’t taste the same outside of Italy. I found that mozzarella and “ice cream” have never tasted the same after I had an Italian gelato. I went on a day trip to Capri, the most enchanting place I have ever seen. Of course, I couldn’t visit Italy without going to Venice 😊. My former company was gracious enough to book me a stay at a beautiful hotel as part of my Christmas “Travel Miles” compensation. I almost forgot; yes, this was a “Bleisure trip” between meals, conversations, and good Italian wine. I prioritized work, and the time difference worked to my advantage; I just had to stay awake longer. Who wants to sleep after being confined to a one-bedroom apartment for months? I squeezed the opportunity like a lemon. Carpe Diem! Human connections are real because the future is uncertain: I matter, YOU matter, WE are important! P.S.: About the picture, due to Covid restrictions, one could not swim in the pool, so I dipped a toe. #Erasmusstudents #bleisure #remotework #humanswhowork #freedomtodomore

🧑🏻The Human Side of Sustainability: Transforming Events Through Social Responsibility 🌱 What does social sustainability mean for events and venues? While environmental sustainability often takes center stage, social sustainability is just as vital for creating events that truly make a difference. It’s about supporting communities, promoting equity, and ensuring dignity and respect for everyone involved. Here are some key aspects of social sustainability, based on criteria from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council: 🌍 Community Support Venues and event organizers contribute to local community projects, focusing on areas like the environment, culture, education, health, or sanitation. 🤝 Local Employment Providing opportunities for local residents—including management and temporary roles—ensures the community benefits directly from the event. 💡 Community Services The activities of the venue must not jeopardize access to essential services for the local population. 🌱 Code of Conduct A strong code of conduct fosters respectful treatment of all people, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, parental status, national origin, age, disability, or political affiliation. 👩💼 Decent Work Respecting labor rights, ensuring safe working conditions, and providing fair compensation for all staff are fundamental principles of social sustainability. These practices ensure that events don’t just succeed—they create meaningful, lasting connections with the people and places hosting them. If you’re looking to host an event that leaves a positive impact on the local community while adhering to global standards, we’d love to help. For more information, send us a message. Together, we can make events a force for good. #SocialSustainability #SustainableEvents #CommunityImpact #EventPlanning #MICE #meetincroatia

In our ongoing series on the European Championship 2024 we look at similarities and differences of the countries playing. ⚽ Denmark and England share a strong maritime tradition and a deep-rooted royal heritage. Culturally, England is distinguished by its dark humor and love of theater, while Denmark is well known for its minimalist design style and Viking history. Denmark 🇩🇰: Hygge magic: Denmark is known for its concept of 'hygge', which means cosy relaxation and socializing. They take their hygge very seriously - candles, warm blankets and good food are the basics for a perfect hygge experience. 💝 Little mermaid: Copenhagen is home to the renowned Little Mermaid statue, perched on a harbor rock, symbolizing Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale legacy, the city's maritime heritage, and eternal themes of love and sacrifice. It remains one of the most photographed landmarks in Denmark's capital. 🧜🏽♀️ Danish design: Denmark's design legacy shines through iconic furniture by Jacobsen and Wegner, while LEGO's inventive bricks continue to inspire creativity globally. 🤩 England 🏴: Teatime tradition: In England, "teatime" is more than just having a cup of tea. It is an institution! English people take their tea breaks very seriously. Rituals abound and tea is traditionally served with scones, clotted cream and jam. ☕ Weather chatter: In England, small talk often revolves around the ever-changing weather, which is a national obsession due to its unpredictability. Whether discussing sunny spells, showers, or snow, chatting about the weather is a social icebreaker and a shared cultural pastime. ☀⛈ Linguistic curiosities: There are numerous place names in England that are notoriously difficult to pronounce if you're unfamiliar with them. For instance, "Cholmondeley" (pronounced "CHUM-lee") is a prime example of such linguistic tongue twisting. 💬 How do you think each country will represent themselves through their team? 🌎⚽ #globalmobility #hrconsulting #championship #denmark #england #culturehackers #culture

AMPED to bring this event back to Truckee Brewing Company. This year bigger and better with a raffle benefiting Sierra Avalanche Center. I am posting here for two reasons: 1. To reach those in my network who might actually be able to attend 2. To reach brands/companies that want to raise the voices, awareness, and accessibility for women in the backcountry. This event will have an emphasis on motorized safety, but all winter backcountry users are welcome as so much of this information overlaps. More so, we ALL connect on the commonality that we all want to use & enjoy these outdoor spaces. Women are out there snowshoeing, ski touring/splitboarding, and snowmobiling/snow biking. My goal with putting on events like this is to connect women to get out there with each other. So often we depend on our male counterparts to get out in the backcountry, especially in the motorized community. I think women have a different way of thinking about safety, so providing an environment where they feel safe to ask questions without feeling "dumb" is important to me. Women being equipped with the proper safety tools and knowledge is important to me. I'm looking for high-value safety items to add to the list of prizes for our raffle. Radios, avy packs, satellite communication devices, beacon, shovel, probe, etc. as well as anything to make women comfortable in the backcountry! From baselayers, to outwear, accessories, and more. If you know of a brand/organization who'd like to support this event, please tag them! I would also love to help other communities organize events like this. If you need any help putting something like this together in your area, please reach out! I'd be happy to offer advice or connections I have to make it happen.

👀 Is London really bad vibes? 💭 In recent times, the city has seen a slow down in its nightlife scene. But why is this? It seems that a growing number of young people are opting for more meaningful and experience-based activities over traditional nights out. 🤔 So, what are the alternatives? 📲 Event based companies have seen a gap in the market and have responded by introducing some ‘wholesome’ alternatives. Some of these include: ⛷ Soft Life Ski - Soft Life Ski is an African and Caribbean Ski Festival redefining the slopes. Through a blend of music and skiing/snowboarding, SLS focuses on fostering inclusivity and making waves in winter sports. Trips so far have included: Hemsedal, Norway, Chamonix & Valfrejus, France. 🎨 BeauBeau’s - Café and ‘third space’ that hosts free chess nights and art clubs founded by Nigerian painter, skateboarder & artist Olaolu Slawn. The heart of BeaBeau’s ethos lies in community and fostering the creativity of young minds. 🍾 PRTYHERE - The ‘UK’s Fav Black British Pub Quiz’. This event provides an interactive cultural experience, combining drinks, music and trivia. PRTYHERE strike the perfect balance between party vibes and creating memories all whist having the chance to meet new people. 🎞 PLACE LTD - Place Ltd believes that ‘there’s more to London than nightlife.’ Followers can stay updated with weekly posts that feature everything from theatre shows to workshops, film screening and book clubs. 💡 What can marketers learn from this? 🧗 It seems that young people are craving experiences. They're moving away from conventional nights out and seeking more fulfilling means. It’s time for brands to embrace this shift and alter their offerings accordingly, by embracing IRL events and activations. #onetwelveagency #influencermarketing #culturalmarketing #softlifeski #placeltd #PRTYHERE #beaubeaus
