🌟 Hello from Lausanne! This week, Martina Sebastian was at Ilmac, the largest #chemical and #lifescience industry gathering in French-speaking Switzerland. It was a great opportunity to catch up with industry peers and exchange fresh ideas 💬✨ We also stopped by our friends at the Biofactory Competence Center, who were using HakoBio to showcase an immersive virtual tour of their training and research center. Seeing our products in action is always inspiring, and we appreciate all the kind feedback we received! 🙌 #DigitalTwins #VirtualReality #VRTraining

Excited to share the recording from LabGenius' recent presentation at PEGS Europe 2024. 🎥 Check out the work we're doing to deliver novel T-cell engagers with complete on/off killing selectivity. This is a great example of how the closed loop integration of machine learning with high throughput experimentation can deliver high performing therapeutics - often with non-intuitive designs.
Did you miss our presentation at #PEGSEurope? Watch the video below to hear James Field describe how LabGenius' unique discovery platform is being used to establish a wholly-owned pipeline of highly selective T-cell engagers for the treatment of solid tumours. LabGenius’ platform, which is underpinned by the closed-loop integration of ML and high-throughput experimentation, is enabling the company to pursue targets that have traditionally been associated with on-target off-tumour toxicity. 🎤 I Won! Reflecting on my FameLab Journey🌞 Two weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to compete in the FameLab International Swiss final with my talk, "Jumping Elephants and the Great Solar Leap." Using elephotons (yes, I turned photons into elephants! 🐘) to explain the physics of solar energy, I broke down why solar cells aren’t 100% efficient. More importantly, I used comparisons to bring the numbers to life. As a nanoscientist and teacher, I’ve always been obsessed with scale—numbers only matter when you understand their context. I made sure the audience “minded the scale” by showing why solar cells, despite their limitations, deserve more room to shine. 🌞 🎥You can watch the 3-min performance here: https://lnkd.in/dscM2BcU FameLab was a unique challenge—explaining a topic from my PhD in just 3 minutes, without the comfort of PowerPoint, and to a general audience. But beyond the science, it was a powerful opportunity for personal growth. It pushed me to refine my storytelling, build confidence, and make meaningful connections. I learned that effective communication isn’t just about simplifying complex ideas; it’s about connecting with your audience and tailoring your message to resonate in each interaction. These are skills I’ll carry with me far beyond the stage—wherever the future leads. So, despite not being selected to represent Switzerland internationally, I feel comfortable saying that I won! Big thanks to the organizing team (Silvie Cuperus et al.—you might leave academia, but academia never leaves you!) as well as jury members Fanny Georgi Martin Gilbert Thomas Michaels. And congrats to the winner, Sivaniya Subramaniapillai—she’ll rock it on the international stage!

🌊 It's Week 3 of #PlasticFreeJuly, and today B'ZEOS is looking back on the #Plastisea Project! The consortium coordinated by SINTEF Industry, brought together research institutes, universities, and B'ZEOS to: 👉Utilize sustainably cultivated brown seaweed to validate material development. 👉Analyze the entire value chain, from raw material to the end-of-life, to ensure sustainability from start to finish. 👉Conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for B'ZEOS seaweed-based materials. As a result of the project, our team worked hands-on with experts across the value chain, including seaweed specialists, material scientists, and research institutes, to validate our innovative technology. 🔬 Science, R+D, and sustainability drive the core of what we do at B'ZEOS.
