I still vividly remember standing in front of a packed auditorium at Sacred Heart University back in 2019, giving a presentation on the glaring gender gap in tech startups. Little did I know that one day I would be in a position to directly impact this space. Today, I'm thrilled to be the founder of nSky Solutions, a tech recruiting firm based in California focused on helping startups build more diverse technical teams. Within just a few months of launching, we've partnered with half a dozen high-growth startups to help: ↗ Transform their hiring funnel ↗ Mitigate bias in their screening processes and ↗ Support them in attracting and retaining more female engineers The results so far have been encouraging… but there is still a long way to go. That's why we are continuously enhancing our recruiting model through extensive research and testing. The tech industry is still resistant to women, especially in the startup world… In general, I notice this at events, where out of 100 men, there are at most 5-7 women (in the best-case scenario). 😕 When I approach tech professionals, especially CIOs or Tech Team Leads, I often see curiosity on their faces, but not much else at first. Only when I start talking and leading the conversation does their initial perception and opinion begin to change. ✅ I’ve been part of international companies, startup projects within larger organizations, and standalone startups. I’ve managed teams, built products, and spent days—and sometimes nights—with product teams to bring ideas to life. 🚀 I’ve earned so many certifications and gained so much experience, I’ve lost count, and yet, I still feel that women are often overlooked in the tech industry. And no, this isn’t a post about equality or fighting for rights. That’s not my focus. I respect and believe in men, but I also believe it will take time for society to take women more seriously in the tech industry. 💪 Women creators. Women dreamers. Women who inspire.
