Get Mo'ing ladies and gents! So tomorrow is the official start to Movember. As promised, I will be doing something different this year. The aim is to drive awareness around testicular and prostrate cancers as well as mens mental health. Many people have enquired what I am up to this year and how they can help to spread the message. Well it's simple: 1. Like our posts and share them if you want to. I will be doing regular updates. Have your own discussions around awareness and check in on the men in your lives. 2. As for what I am up to this year.....the hint is in the picture. The suicide awareness ribbon is in the middle with the light blue prostrate cancer awareness ribbon on the left and the light purple testicular cancer awareness ribbon on the right. How fitting. Tomorrow I will kick off my Movember challenge with my first post outlining my goals for the month. Chin up. Boots down. #bigbearmotivationalapparel #chinupbootsdown #movember2024 #movember #mentalhealthawareness #cancerawareness

As we embark on week two of Movember, I have a simple task for you: Ask a friend how they're doing today. Like many of you, I have personally witnessed family and friends be impacted by cancer, suicide, and mental health issues. It sucks, and it hurts, especially when you feel like you could have done something. Whether it's detecting prostate and testicular cancer early, or preventing someone from suicide, silence is the real killer. It all starts with a conversation. We can't be afraid to talk about our feelings and struggles. You never know what someone is going through until you ask. We all are going through something... There are so many stories out there. You can read several on the Movember website. I encourage you to share your stories with others. By being open to speaking about issues with others, we can save more lives. Start with checking in on somebody today. Learn more about Movember's mission at the link in the first comment below. #Movember #MensHealth

🌟 Movember: Time for Men to Talk 🌟 The staff at JHS are growing their Mos! This Movember, let’s make a difference together. 💙 We’re not just growing moustaches—we’re growing conversations about men’s mental health and raising awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. These are critical issues that deserve our attention, and the first step is breaking the silence. 💬 Why talk? Because it’s OK to not be OK. Because expressing your feelings is a sign of strength, not weakness. Because no man should feel alone in his struggles. When we talk, we show each other that we care, that we’re listening, and that support is always available. This Movember, let’s remind men everywhere that it’s not just about health—it’s about hope. 👨👦👦 Join the movement: 🌱 Grow your mo. 🤝 Reach out to a friend. 🗣 Start a conversation. If you want to buy a badge to support the cause please see Mr Parsad. Together, we can make a lasting impact. #Movember #MensMentalHealth #ItsOkToNotBeOk #TimeToTalk

Good Morning LinkedIn, Do You Know, What is Movember! It’s Movember! A Mustache for Men’s Health 🌍 This month, you might notice more mustaches popping up—it's not just for style, it’s for #Movember! Growing a mustache in November helps raise awareness and funds for critical men’s health issues, including: 👨⚕️ Prostate Cancer – One of the most common cancers in men. Early detection saves lives! 🧬Prostate Cancer – Most common among young men; let’s reduce the stigma and spread awareness. 💬 Mental Health & Suicide Prevention – Men are less likely to seek help. By talking openly, we can change that. Movember isn’t just about the Mo; it’s about moving the needle on men’s health. This November, join in by growing a Mo, taking on the 60km challenge for the 60 men who lose their lives to suicide each hour, or hosting a “Mo-Ment” with friends and colleagues. Let’s support each other, break stigmas, and spread awareness—one Mo at a time. 💙 #Movember2023#Movember2024 #MensHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #ProstateCancer #TesticularCancer #BreakTheStigma #SuicidePrevention #Wellness #LinkedInCommunity #HealthAwareness #StartTheConversation

I’ve sat on this for long enough, unsure if this is the right forum for such a post. Well, it is. Movember has always been something on my radar, but I couldn’t find my conviction to shave my beard. It’s funny how something so trivial now means a lot to me - taking into account my experience with one of the core pillars of the Movember movement: *Mental health & Suicide Prevention* Prostate Cancer Testicular Cancer TRIGGER WARNING - Discussion of mental health and suicide A large part of what I see on this platform is celebration of achievement and endurance. My achievement, if you will, is that I’m still here. In 2023 I was diagnosed with post-partum depression (PPD), something I didn’t realise was a possibility for men. Even more of a surprise after years of trying for a baby and finally having an our own healthy, happy one. PPD occurs in approximately 8-10% of fathers and has the highest prevalence within 3 to 6 months postpartum (…) Mentally, I believed I was a terrible father, husband and was riddled with shame, disgust and doubt. I was a problem. I sought to remove that problem and, in my mind, hope to make things “better” for those I loved. I can’t emphasise how fortunate I have been (and know it) for the incredible support from family, friends, colleagues and the NHS. Sadly I’ve known of too many young men, good friends, who’ve taken their lives. One is too many. It’s been cathartic to open up and discuss my experience, but more so, to talk with others in similar situations and just “check in” with one another. If you’d like to donate to the cause, I’ve linked my Movember page as below: https://lnkd.in/eiQASreb It’s day 18, my ‘tache is suitably shocking and there’s a lot more “me” under my chin than I’d like to admit but seeing the dudes rocking a moustache means something new to me these days. Let’s have a conversation, thanks for reading. - Matt #movember #letshaveaconversation

It’s ‘stash season! Movember is upon us. Movember is a global movement dedicated to men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancers, mental health, and suicide prevention. To raise awareness, you may start to notice some people around you sporting a mustache or setting a fitness goal as part of their commitment to “Move for Movember.” Since its start in 2003, Movember has turned into a full global movement, with the Movember Foundation funding more than 1,300 men's health projects around the world and spotlighting health issues that people find difficult to talk about. This month, Movember is highlighting these sobering statistics: - Men represent 69% of suicides globally, or 1 suicide every minute. - More than 10.8 million men live with prostate cancer, many of whom face unique challenges post-treatment. - Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 15–39, with early awareness and detection being crucial. Wondering how you can help? There are plenty of ways to get involved—and mustaches are optional. Here are some resources to help you get started.

November is Men's Health Awareness Month, or as most of us know it Movember! Movember is about raising awareness for men's mental health, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. These are often missed as there is the ridiculous stigma around men having to be "manly" and just "man up" if they're feeling low or unwell. Which leads to never catching cancer in time or getting the mental health they need before it's too late. This stigma needs to end, it will literally save lives. If you are struggling, there is a lot of help out there to get you through your day to day make help you realise things can get better. If you have any symptoms for prostate or testicular cancer, get them checked asap, the sooner you catch it the better. #Movember #MensHealthAwarenessMonth #MensMentalHealthAwareness #ProstateCancerAwareness #TesticularCancerAwareness ID: Seated Sewing graphic for Movember in the company colours.

I know there are many types of awareness months for various things. But, September. September holds 3 very important pieces of my life and my family's lives. September is.... Suicide Awareness Month Chiari Malformation Awareness Month Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month These 3 MAJOR life changing, life altering, life shattering afflictions have affected our lives in an incredible amount of ways. Both negative and positive. They've caused our family to both grown and shrink. They've brought on sadness, anger, confusion, stress, questions, and hatred. BUT....They've also brought us an army of friends and new family. A new found plethora of knowledge. Experience to share and help others. So while I know I'm not alone, I know my family isn't the only one that has been to hell and back.....I KNOW that we are here for anyone who needs an ear, a shoulder, a word of advice or an honest opinion. Going through things isn't always necessarily a bad thing. You can spin it into good. You grow, you learn, you educate. Hugs to anyone out there that needs it. Also, remember, in addition to all the "other" awareness items that September is known for, Self care and Self Awareness is one that we should ALL spend some time acknowledging. Choose you. Nurture YOU. You're no good for others if you can't be good for YOU. #SuicidePrevention #ron33sonbrotherdaduncle #ChiariMalformationAwareness #kendallisourwarriorandsurvivor #ovariancancerawareness #mymamafoughthard #selfawarenessmonth #takecareofYOU
