We are devastated to report the killing of four water engineers and workers in Gaza, who were collaborating with our strategic partner, the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU). The men were on their way to repair water infrastructure in Khuzaa, east of Khan Younis, when their clearly marked vehicle was bombed, despite prior coordination with Israeli authorities. Adding to this tragedy, we mourn the loss of two colleagues from our valued partner, Juzoor. They are Dr. Ahmad Al-Najar and midwife Laila Jneid, who were killed by Israeli airstrikes over the weekend while providing life-saving health care in Gaza. Oxfam Australia stands in solidarity with CMWU, Juzoor, their partners, and the families of all the victims. Aid workers and civilians are NOT a target. Attacking aid workers is a war crime. 👉We urgently call for a permanent ceasefire and demand that the Australian Government end all arms transfers to Israel. https://lnkd.in/gg3-4U69

This is truly shocking and heartbreaking, given the significant dangers that aid workers in Gaza are facing. According to ReliefWeb, more than 300 aid workers have lost their lives in Gaza over the past year, marking the highest toll recorded in a single crisis in human history. This underscores the horrific crimes against humanity and the dangers that humanitarians confront. https://reliefweb.int/report/occupied-palestinian-territory/irc-calls-protection-aid-workers-gaza-following-killings-three-partner-staff-just-24-hours#:~:text=Since%20October%202023%2C%20more%20than,highest%20risks%20in%20delivering%20aid.

Oh no, it is indeed a war crime. Sending prayers and condolence. Immediate cease fire is the solution.
