There is nowhere left to go in Gaza. Rafah was one of the few spots left where humanitarian access was possible, and there was still obstruction at the border. Over one million Palestinians are there and they are being told to "evacuate" without clear instructions while facing indiscriminate bombing; they cannot leave through the border which is shut deliberately. If they move, they face death by starvation or dehydration since the water plants have been bombed too. An invasion of Rafah will have catastrophic consequences for civilians. This is unacceptable and is a moral stain on the international community's conscience for their failure to prevent such war crimes, human rights violations, and atrocities. Over 35,000 Palestinians are dead, thousands more are missing under the rubble, and 14,000 children have died. 70,000 are injured, including many amputees. Nearly 2 million people out of a population of 2.3 million have been internally displaced. Both the Israeli government and Hamas must face accountability for their war crimes and human rights violations--that said, there is no solution to this crisis that will arrive through a military campaign alone, and one that indiscriminately targets civilians and civilian infrastructure, making Gaza completely unliveable. There is no excuse for blocking humanitarian aid access while thousands starve to death in the north. There is no justification for any civilians facing violence, insecurity, and a loss of their human rights.

🚨URGENT | ActionAid reacts to the news of the Israeli Forces’ evacuation order for 1.5 million displaced people in #Rafah "Forcing over a million displaced Palestinians from Rafah to evacuate without a safe destination is not only unlawful but would lead to catastrophic consequences.  Our aid workers are reporting some of the most severe conditions in recent memory with widespread disease, starvation and chaos. Let us be clear, there are no safe zones in Gaza.  The international community must act swiftly to prevent further atrocities and hold themselves as well as the Israeli government to account - if an invasion of Rafah is your “red line” will you do everything possible to stop this imminent attack?” https://lnkd.in/dXdSgBQn
