Our newest blog highlights key findings from comprehensive research and asset mapping of Europe’s Deep Tech ecosystem. We identified critical challenges —Pre-incubation, Incubation, and Acceleration, as well asmarket fragmentation and funding limitations, included. The goal of this phase, which was led by the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN), was to determine the requirements and difficulties associated with deep tech commercialisation to establish stronger support systems within European HEI (Higher Education Institutions) and beyond. Innosuisse Accelerates the Transfer of Knowledge and Technology! 2023 Impact Highlights: 1. 98 out of 129 ideas boosted by the Innovation Boosters are being pursued 2. 53% of SMEs that have received an innovation cheque are working with a research institution for the first time. 3. 48% of innovation projects without implementation partners led to concrete results for the further application of research in follow-up projects. 4. 26% of innovation projects with implementation partners already resulted in registering patents, trademarks, designs or licence agreements at the end of the project. 5. 106 start-ups emerged from 147 BRIDGE Proof of Concept projects from the period 2017-2021 by the end of 2023. 6. 62% of innovation projects with implementation partners result in further collaboration between research and implementation partners after project completion. 7. In 1 out of 6 innovation projects with implementation partners, the company hires staff of the research partner at the end of the project. To ensure long term success, it takes developing a collaborative culture and the correct mindset.
