One final #Maress campaign month to go, and it is time for another update! The crew onboard the campaign vessels continue to improve fuel efficiency and enhance their carbon footprint – kudos to you all! Four vessels deserve extra recognition for their July performance: PSV: Falcon Tide - Tidewater, UK AHTS: Normand Sigma - Solstad Offshore ASA CSV: Normand Fortress – Solstad Offshore ASA Other: Stril Herkules - Simon Møkster Shipping AS Congratulations to all four vessels for being the most improved as the campaign hits the two-month mark! It is tight at the top, we still see room for improvement, particularly in transit operations. We urge every participant to stay the course and keep focussing on efficient and environmental-friendly operations in the final month. Good luck! 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗧𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 ⬇ Last month, #Multraship joined our peers at the European Tugowners Association (ETA) for its 61st Annual General Meeting in #Helsingør, #Denmark. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 Multraship’s Eline Muller and Willem Spijker connected with over 140 members of the European #towage community to discuss the industry's future and today's critical challenges, especially regarding emissions. 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘆 This year's ETA Conference shed light on the EU Emissions Trading System (#ETS) and the Monitor, Reporting and Verification (#MRV) regulations. These regulations are pivotal for the #maritime sector's #decarbonisation goals and for service providers like #Multraship to understand our role in fostering a sustainable industry without compromising operational efficiency. However, the MRV regulations set to be enforced from 1st January 2025 may impose a significant administrative and financial burden on tug- and workboat owners and operators. The ambiguity surrounding the definition of 'offshore vessel' and which vessels from 400 GT will need to comply adds to the challenge of preparing for proper implementation and budgeting. 𝗡𝗼 ‘𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗦𝗶𝘇𝗲-𝗙𝗶𝘁𝘀-𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻’ There is no 'one-size-fits-all' alternative fuel solution for our industry yet, particularly for tugs, workboats and salvage craft that operate both offshore and in port(s). Issues such as the availability of alternative fuels and storage/tank capacity are examples of the challenges we face. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗴𝗲 Despite these challenges, Multraship is dedicated to sustainable operations while ensuring we can respond to any incident. Our presence at events like the ETA Conference keeps us informed and proactive regarding #emissions #regulations affecting our industry.
