Paediatric Video Journal (PVJ)’s Post

Are referrals for suspected paediatric bone and soft tissue tumours meeting the two week standard? Binod Pander, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) NHS Trust, discusses his work in identifying if #cancer pathway standards are being met in a tertiary referral centre in #London. The standards are being adhered to in terms of reviewing patients within the two week time frame and diagnosing within 28 days. However, a delay was identified in initiation of cancer treatment. Furthermore, lots of cases of benign #osteochondroma have been identified as potentially leading to delay for other more important cases. Further discussions are needed to streamline the pathway for these benign cases. This interview took place at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) conference 2024 in Birmingham, UK.
