Hong Kong Disneyland has reported that hotel bookings, for the upcoming seven-day National Day "Golden Week" in October, have reached 80%. The theme park indicated that over 70% of guests at its three hotels during last year's Golden Week holiday were from the Mainland, a trend anticipated to strengthen this year. The park recognizes a shift in travel preferences, with tourists increasingly seeking purposeful travel and innovative, comprehensive experiences; hence the park plans to focus its hotel and dining strategies on continuous innovation and experiential entertainment. Since the borders reopened in 2023, the park has welcomed not only Mainland tourists but also many international visitors from countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and Australia. In comparison to the same period in 2018, the increase in non-local visitor numbers at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2023 has outpaced the overall rise in visitor numbers to Hong Kong, with Southeast Asian markets emerging as key contributors among international visitors outside the mainland.
