💜 International Day of the Girl Child 💜 Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and potential of girls worldwide on International Day of the Girl Child! Unfortunately, girls continue to face staggering barriers, stereotypes, and violence. Did you know that 1 in 3 girls worldwide experience physical, sexual, or emotional violence? These atrocities perpetuate harmful norms, stifling girls' growth and potential. It's time to shatter these stereotypes! Girls are not weak, fragile, or inferior. They're powerful change-makers, innovators, and leaders. Girls in STEM fields are just as capable as their male counterparts. In fact, girls now outnumber boys in advanced placement computer science courses! To prevent violence against girls: We must challenge societal norms and biases. Educate boys and men about respect, empathy, and equality. Empower girls with knowledge, skills, and confidence. Support policy reforms protecting girls' rights. How can we support violated girls? Listen to their stories without judgment. Provide safe spaces for healing and recovery. Connect them with resources, counseling, and advocacy. Amplify their voices, elevating their experiences. Let's create a world where girls thrive! Join me in celebrating girls' achievements and advocating for their rights. Together, we can build a brighter future for all girls!! #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild #GirlsRights #EmpowermentThroughEducation #BreakTheViolence #SupportGirls #DayOfTheGirl #GirlsEmpowerment #BreakTheStereotype #EveryGirlIsCostly Picture Credit: Adolescent Boot Camp organized by Value Female Network Africa Dr. Costly Aderibigbe-Saba Samuel Abimbade

#HerEducationOurFuture On this International Day of the Girl, let us reflect on how, if properly supported and educated, girls have the potential to change the world. Yet there is so much still to do - nearly 1 in 5 girls are still not completing lower-secondary and nearly 4 in 10 girls are not completing upper-secondary school today. Around 90% of adolescent girls and young women do not use the internet in low-income countries, while their male peers are twice as likely to be online. This year’s theme, “Girls’ vision for the future,” seeks to empower girls, amplify their voices and support their agency to shape strategies and policies that ensure a better future for us all. We definitely have a role to play to support their development, as employers in STEM and privileged contributors to the workplace. To quote Malala Yousafzai, “We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back.” #girls #STEM #awareness https://lnkd.in/dMWfufkR

International Day of the Girl Child 2024: Girls' Vision for the Future This year, we celebrate the theme "Girls' Vision for the Future," which calls for amplifying the voices of young girls and investing in meaningful, sustainable solutions that enable them to shape their future. It’s not just about recognising their aspirations but ensuring we provide the resources, tools, and opportunities they need to thrive. This day serves as a reminder that girls hold the potential to transform societies, but it’s up to us to clear the path for them. At Triple A Foundation, through our EmpowerHer initiative, we are committed to ensuring that girls, regardless of their backgrounds, have access to education, mentorship, and the skills needed to unlock their potential. Our work is grounded in the belief that by investing in girls today, we create a stronger, more inclusive future for everyone. Why is this important? Because girls still face systemic barriers, from lack of access to education and healthcare to societal norms that limit their opportunities. Studies show that 129 million girls are out of school worldwide, and in many parts of the world, young girls remain at a disadvantage due to poverty, gender-based violence, and harmful practices like child marriage. The consequences of inaction affect not only the individual girl but also her community and the world at large. With EmpowerHer, we are focusing on building resilience and self-empowerment, giving girls the agency to dream and realise their full potential. Our future depends on how we support them now. Let’s honour their vision and work collectively to accelerate progress for a future where every girl, regardless of her circumstances, has the tools and opportunities to achieve her dreams. This isn’t just their future; it’s ours too. SHE RISES, WE RISE 🤝 #GirlsVisionForTheFuture #EmpowerHer #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild

🌍💪 International Day of the Girl Child 🌍💪 Today, we celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child, a crucial observance day declared by the United Nations to shine a light on the unique challenges faced by girls around the world. 🌸 Girls everywhere confront obstacles that often go unnoticed or ignored. As of 2014, over 62 million girls had no access to education. 💔 Collectively, girls aged 5-14 spend 160 million more hours on household chores than boys. Globally, 1 in 4 girls are married before age 18, often stripping them of their childhood and future. Why does this matter? When we address these issues, we don’t just change the lives of girls — we transform entire communities. Educating girls leads to a reduction in child marriage, lower disease rates, and a stronger economy. Empowering girls means empowering a brighter, more equitable future for all. Let's advocate for every girl's right to education, protection, and opportunity. Together, we can help create a world where every girl can thrive. 🌱 How do you support girls' rights in your community? #DayOfTheGirl #GirlsRights #EndChildMarriage #GirlsEducation #EmpowerGirls #GenderEquality #UNWomen #FutureLeaders
