This is the most effective way to generate B2B leads that convert into enquiries and sales from organic search. And it’s a no-brainer… by focusing on the search terms people are using when they are closest to buying. ✅ Use targeted, bottom of funnel keywords ✅ Provide valuable, decision-driving content ✅ Make your landing pages irresistible While top of funnel keywords may be tempting due to their high search volumes, they require many more touches to convert and have lower conversion rates and revenue impact. In B2B SEO, search volumes are typically lower for bottom of funnel (BoFu) keywords, but their intent means they are more likely to generate an enquiry. Focusing your SEO strategy on these BoFu keywords, means you are targeting your audience at the time they are likely ready to buy. Bring targeting keywords with high commercial intent, together with creating content that ranks for those terms, and optimising your website to convert that traffic, you can significantly boost your marketing ROI. 🔎 Focus on bottom of funnel keywords: These are the search terms used by people who are ready to buy. Think [product category] + “software", “tools’, “platform”, “solution”, or "[product category] pricing", or [competitor] vs [your brand], or [competitor] + “alternatives”, “competitors”. BoFu leads are crucial - they require more effort but are the most likely to convert. ✍ Create decision-driving content: Offer case studies, product comparisons and testimonials. For the B2B SaaS SEO-Curious, I just got back from SaaStr - amazing how every company is either a help-you-do-better-AI co, a powered-by-ai-co, or a Compliance co. All that AI could be leaking your PII, after all. Anyhow had a good chance to talk to a few of our SaaS clients and go over some data. One is getting very little traffic, but they are using what the SEO gurus call a "Zero Click SEO" strategy, targeting low volume searches that don't show up in any keyword tool. Check out the CTR on the traffic they are getting. "Zero Click SEO"? More like "3 Awesome Clicks SEO".
