Replay now available on our YouTube channel ❤️ In this MOE Digital Academy, we welcomed James Mackenzie Wright, a family coach and published author, to discuss essential parent coaching. James emphasises the importance of recognizing and nurturing our children's potential, asserting that “Children expect us to expect them to excel”. He highlights the distinction between coaching and traditional parenting, advocating for a coaching approach that encourages children to explore their own thinking rather than relying on parental advice. James also talks about healthy detachment, which allows parents to step back and let their children lead their own thought processes. "If we can build trust with them by delighting in their thinking processes, whatever the results, right or wrong, we'll soon find out that they will create some fabulous ideas." The webinar also covers practical strategies for effective communication with children, such as avoiding the words "why" and "don't," and instead focusing on questions that promote exploration and understanding. ❤️I know there are tons of parents in the community and it takes a village.❤️ I am posting this only as a note to say you're not alone in the parenting thing. During a networking event recently, I met an individual who does Parent Coaching. She's a PCI Certified Parent Coach® and PCI Certified Instructor. She shared with me that her services are useful when you're at an impasse on what to do or don't know what to do in a situation to have someone see things with a fresh perspective and offer suggestions. Maybe it's a one-time thing or more than once thing. Sometimes you share with friends and other times you don't want to. If other issues surface beyond her scope of expertise she can refer out for licensed counseling, if needed. https://buff.ly/49dCd6b #IRISTX #IntegrityRealtyandInvestmentServices #IRISTXBrokerage #BarbaraColvintexasbroker #BarbaraColvinBroker #TexasRealEstateBroker

Here’s a parenting reality check: it’s never about perfection 👨👩👧👦 My recent parent coaching certification courses have reinforced what many of us suspect but often forget: our kids don’t need flawless parents. Why? 🤍 Authenticity trumps perfection. 🧡 Our real selves create genuine connections. 💚 Mistakes are part of the journey, not detours. As I implement these ideas with my family and clients, I’m noticing a shift. When we drop the act and show up as we are, parenting becomes less about performance and more about presence. I’m always seeking to discuss the realities of parenting without the sugar coating. So, let’s do that. Fellow parents: what’s a parenting “rule” you’ve broken that actually worked out well? Or a “mistake” that led to a breakthrough? #ParentCoaching #AuthenticParenting #ParentingInsights #RealParenting #ParentingTruths #NoFilter

"Amy, what does your coaching program include?" I love this question because it allows me to explain what you can expect with the Blended Family Blueprint program. The goal of coaching is to get you from Island A ("We are struggling with this thing") to Island B ("We are on the same page and working as a team to raise these kids"). Within the BFB program, you will learn strategies that support the 3 main tenants of blended parenting: 1. You will build a stronger parenting partnership 2. You will have a deeper understanding of stepfamily dynamics and how to support each other as a couple 3. You will learn more effective ways to communicate with each other and with the kids as well I'm a teacher at heart. I've created exercises to help you build a shared parenting approach. I will share strategies and offer support within each of our sessions. The bottom line: I want you to feel prepared for the changes blended family parenting will bring and I will give you "tools for your parenting toolbox" so you can navigate the challenges with compassion, intention, and grace. Interested in learning more? Check out details for the Blended Family Blueprint on my website (www.daretoparent.com). OH, and don't forget to grab your FREE Starter Kit resources too! #blendedfamily #stepfamily #parenting #communication #coparenting #stepparenting

Confession time: This year, I've been juggling a new adventure: Two certifications in parent coaching.🧑🍼 No, I'm not becoming a Professional Dad (though that title has a nice ring to it)! Instead, I'm learning how to guide and support other parents in their journeys. This course has been eye-opening, to say the least. And a recent exercise really struck me: creating a family values contract. 📜 It took me back to a trip years ago when Monica and I realized we'd never formally outlined our own family's values. Better late than never, right? A family mission/vision/purpose can become more than just words on paper. It serves as a practical tool for guiding key decisions: 1. Who should our kids and us spend time with? (Do these families or people align with our values and our parenting style.) 2. Are our activities truly reflecting what we value? (Your family schedule speaks volumes.) 3. How can we better align our daily choices with our family's principles? (There's no right or wrong here, just more awareness so we are consciously making choices.) 4. And really important for me personally is WWMWD (What Would My Wife Do). Funny but not funny. Being able to make solid family decisions without your partner present is a game changer. I'm learning that parent coaching is about empowering families to build stronger bonds and navigate challenges more effectively. It's not about perfect parenting but intentional parenting. Parents, have you ever written down your family's values? If not, what's holding you back? #ParentCoaching #FamilyValues #EmpoweringFamilies
