Re-certifying legacy dry dock infrastructure is a lengthy, expensive undertaking and the outcome is uncertain. These structures can be repurposed quickly and efficiently by installing a modern shiplift system. The installation can be permanent or reversable. Repurposing legacy drydock infrastructure is accepting a gift from the prior generations to create a brighter future without further degrading our shared environment.

Voith Roll Stabilization (VRS) ensures a smooth ride, even in high waves 🌊, thus increasing both the comfort on board and the safety of passengers and crew on #workboats, #ferries and #yachts. The system can compensate for up to 90 percent of a ship’s rolling movements, regardless of whether the ship is stationary or moving at full speed. A particularly great advantage of the VRS can be seen in offshore support vessels, which can continue to operate even in heavy seas thanks to the roll stabilization. This leads to longer operating times and thus increases the economic efficiency of the #marineapplication. The basis for the VRS module is the Voith Schneider Propeller (#VSP). The ship must also be equipped with an electronic control system, as the rapid specification of thrust magnitude and thrust direction is necessary for the system to function. ➡️In this way, the VSP generates a counter-torque to the shaft movement and almost completely compensates for the rolling movements, making ship operation more efficient and safer overall. https://hubs.ly/Q02DSj_X0

BREAKING NEWS: Air cushion principle revealed on the AIRCAT 25 WindFarmer! AIRCAT vessels are revolutionary catamarans that incorporate air cushion technology to provide an unparalleled experience in terms of speed, comfort, safety, and reduced fuel consumption, resulting in lower CO2 emissions. How do they work? - Twin hulls : Like all catamarans, AIRCATs have two hulls, providing exceptional stability and performance. - Reinforced rubber skirt and bag : These are designed to create an airtight zone beneath the vessel. - Air blower : An air blower sends air under the vessel, in-between the airtight zone created by the hulls and the skirts, forming the air cushion and lifting the vessel. - Damper cassettes : Actuated dampers are installed at different locations on the vessel to regulate the air-cushion pressure. Advantages of the technology: - Increased speed : By reducing drag, AIRCAT vessels can navigate at higher speeds. - Optimal comfort : The regulated pressure of the air cushion allows for smoother and more stable navigation, even in challenging maritime conditions. - Enhanced safety : The air cushion also behaves as an active heave motion damping system during passenger transfers, placing safety at the core of our vessel design. - Reduced fuel consumption : By minimizing drag, AIRCAT vessels consume less fuel than other vessels, making them more economical and eco-friendly. As you can see, AIRCAT vessels are redefining modern navigation by combining performance, comfort, safety, and fuel efficiency. #AIRCAT #SES #SurfaceEffectShips #Crewboats #HighSpeedVessel #CTV #crewboat #crewtransfervessel #Workboat #ESNA #Innovation #Technology #Navigation #Catamaran #Comfort #Safety #Performance #FuelEfficiency

What role can technology innovation play in reducing C02 emissions from fires? One Australian innovation has the potential to greatly improve our response times to putting wild fires out. The first automated loading system for the fire fighting planes was invented right here in Australia and is already implemented by NSW Rural Fire Services. Less time loading results in more available aircraft to fight the fires faster. Apparently the land area equivalent to the size of India burns every year. Imagine the emissions impact of this. Trees absorb c02 and release oxygen. And they store co2 until burned down or rotted. Best carbon sink we could wish for. So if we can get to the fires more quickly and to where they’re burning without relying on them to reach road access points then we can greatly reduce the impact of fires on emissions. Of course we also reduce the human and biodiversity tragedy and loss. Well done to Siemens and Shane Carter at Centric PA. Next step is to see these in operation in the US, EU and othe vulnerable regions. This is how digitalization and technology can help australia contribute to decarbonisation around the world- beyond the 1% of emissions we are responsible for.
Summer is approaching in Australia and with it comes the potential for more frequent bushfires. Centric Process Automation and the NSW Rural Fire Service have created a lifesaving solution to a global problem. Together with our technology, they’ve designed RASCAL, the world’s first fully automated fire-retardant loading system for fire-fighting aircraft. This results in increased safety, efficiency and ease of loading retardant and suppressant into aircraft. The RASCAL system cuts the loading time of aircraft by roughly 50%, enabling a faster return to the fire. It has the potential to save lives and homes, while also cutting the fire's footprint and reducing carbon emissions. It's because of this innovation that, at our recent Beyond 1% Summit, we proudly awarded Centric PA and the NSW RFS the Beyond 1% award in the industrial innovation category! Congratulations to Shane Carter, Managing Director, Centric Process Automation; and Christopher Ryder, Chief Superintendent, NSW Rural Fire Service, who accepted the awards on behalf of their organisations. A special thank you to Florence Lindhaus from the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce for presenting the award on the night. #Beyond1Percent #FireFighting #IndustrialInnovation

Most people will agree that using an aerial work platform is one of the safest ways to work at height. And yet there are still far too many incidents - many of them fatal - involving platforms, and in particular boom lifts. #safety #falls #Access #Acces #accessplatform #aeriallift #Plataformas #elevadoras #workplatform #lift #boomlift #aerialworkplatforms #scissorlift #allaccessequipment #machine #equipment #workingatheight #workingatheights #liftingindustry #liftingequipment
