On National Vaccination Day. Together, let's take a stand for a healthier future.💉💪 Research indicates that the HPV vaccine is not widely accessible to all girls across India. Currently, it is available in the private market at a significant out-of-pocket cost. The lack of trust in vaccine safety and effectiveness leads to hesitation in recommending the HPV vaccine to parents of age-eligible adolescents (Source: Hrishikesh Pai, President, FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India) 2023; Upendra S. India's advancement in child immunisation is remarkable; however, subnational inequities hinder key goals. A new study highlights local variations in vaccination coverage, revealing clusters of low coverage, especially in northeastern states and Uttar Pradesh. Achieving India's vaccination goals requires a shift towards targeting low-immunity clusters at the sub-district level to increase coverage, advance disease-control priorities, and reduce inequities. This shift necessitates new strategies and implementation-oriented research for high-impact, precision approaches to close immunity gaps. #PublicHealth #Immunization #India #VaccinationInequities #Measles #Polio #Healthcare #ChildHealth #VaccineCoverage #HealthEquity #lancet #lansea #health #medical #publication #manuscript #asia #southasia #southeastasia #who #Bangladesh #bhutan #India #Indonesia #Maldives #Myanmar #NorthKorea #Nepal #SriLanka #thailand #timorleste
