On National Vaccination Day. Together, let's take a stand for a healthier future.💉💪 Research indicates that the HPV vaccine is not widely accessible to all girls across India. Currently, it is available in the private market at a significant out-of-pocket cost. The lack of trust in vaccine safety and effectiveness leads to hesitation in recommending the HPV vaccine to parents of age-eligible adolescents (Source: Hrishikesh Pai, President, FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India) 2023; Upendra S. An open letter to the "Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India" by 54 Doctors of all streams of medical sciences. It's a serious concern we came to know of the Side Effects of COVID-19 vaccination in the recent past. Why risk 9-14-year-olds with vaccine side effects when the HPV virus - cervical cancer link is unclear? High risk of HPV vaccine side effects for 9-14-year-olds. No established link between the HPV virus and cervical cancer. In phase 2/3 trials of Cervavac, the follow-up was only for 220 odd days after vaccination. The long-term efficacy and protection by the vaccine is unknown. So how do you know efficacy will last long as Cervical cancer doesn’t happen before the age of 45/50? Why vaccinate 9-14 year olds for a disease which may happen 30 years later? For the incidence of 0.0147% & mortality rate of 0.0092% at 55 to 59 years of age vaccinating all young girls from 9 to 15 years of age with 1% serious side effects including death is criminal. Most HPV infections clear within 2 years on its own https://lnkd.in/ghadvBEa #hpv #vaccine #cancer #health #cancerawareness #healthawareness
