🧐 Australian Playground Standards & Guideline You Should Know: Any playground design requires a detailed knowledge of the content and application of the Australian Playground Standards during the design process. However, it’s helpful for everyone involved in a playground project to understand some key concepts of the Standards. The current Australian Standard for playground equipment, AS 4685:2021, was introduced in 2004 and updated in 2021. It is closely aligned with the European Standard. Some changes made were significant, and they more closely reflect global trends in playground child safety. What is the first thing you notice when you look at a pool? Is it the type of filter media used? Is it the heating system installed? Is it the dosing pump tubing? No, it's the aesthetics of the pool! Whilst all the technical aspects of design are critical to a well-functioning project. It’s not the first thing you see. It's the shape. It's the tiles. It's the lighting. It's the way the pool looks and how that design make you feel. This is the key element of any swimming pool design project. Which is why, at Pool Logic, we like to do design a little different. Instead of solely focusing on the technical side of our projects, we give the appearance of the pool the respect it deserves. We don't just leave a couple of catalogues with the client and let them decide. We guide the client through the design journey and help them select the best materials possible, the perfect colour palette, and the corresponding lighting to match. Today, we'd like to share with you the key steps in installing geotextile fabric in wooden pools. The geotextile (underliner) separates the liner from the structure, while protecting it, then it fits better and is more aligned. Using double-sided tape: To secure the geotextile, we use special double-sided tape, starting at the top edge of the pool. This step is pivotal to ensure the stability and durability of the fabric. We avoid using staples under the geotextile to evade visible marks that could affect the aesthetics of the pool and damage the liner. Precise trimming of excess material: It is important to precisely trim the surplus geotextile, especially at the top and corners of the pool. This prevents unevenness and ensures even distribution of the material. Bottom stabilization: We use tape on the bottom of the pool to hold the geotextile pieces together. This is critical to ensure stability and even distribution of the geotextile over the entire pool surface. Installing the geotextile is a pivotal step in building a solid foundation for a wooden pool. The underliner is a protection that will ensure the durability of the liner and protect it from potential punctures.
