I reviewed 67 LinkedIn profiles of recruiters and identified common pitfalls that could be making your job search - and candidate attraction - more challenging. 🔍 Are You Making These 7 LinkedIn Mistakes?🔍 1. Incomplete Experience Details: Many profiles have strong headlines but lack detailed experience sections. Your LinkedIn should narrate your professional journey to establish credibility and attract the right opportunities. 2. Excessive Acronyms: Overuse of acronyms can alienate viewers who aren't familiar with certain terminology. Clarity and simplicity can increase your profile's accessibility. 3. Missing Recommendations: Social proof is capital today! Recommendations validate your skills and experience. Without them, it's harder for others to gauge your effectiveness and reputation. 4. Outdated Experience: Stop selling for the company you worked for 5 years ago. Remove the corporate speak, and links to thier career page, and tell YOUR story! 5. Lack of Contact Info and Calls to Action: Ensure your profile has up-to-date contact information and a clear invitation for potential employers/candidates to reach out. This simple step can significantly increase your engagement. 6. Low-Quality Profile Photos: Your photo is the first impression you make on LinkedIn. A clear, professional profile photo can significantly enhance your profile’s appeal. 7. Underutilized Skills and Certifications: Showcase your full skill set and any relevant certifications. This section is your chance to shine and stand out from the crowd. What else would you add? Avoiding these common mistakes can improve your visibility to be found for opportunities and help you be a savvy and relevant recruiter on LinkedIn. Attracting career opportunities instead of searching for them can completely change your career. Often, I talk with professionals who think they deserve awesome opportunities. But then I take a look at their personal brand… And they look just like everyone else! There are recruiters who are sourcing, or searching for, job candidates on LinkedIn. And because they’re using the LinkedIn platform, that means that they’re going to see who LinkedIn shows them. And you know who appears LAST in LinkedIn search? The WORST LinkedIn profiles. Follow this LinkedIn Profile checklist and double each section so you can increase your visibility: ↳ Banner ↳ Adding Skills ↳ Profile picture ↳ Unique Headline ↳ Everything is up-to-date ↳ Have a Featured Section ↳ About section that has story ↳ Get & Add Recommendations to your Profile ↳ At least a few sentences under each job/position ↳ Be Active by Posting, Interacting, Commenting, and Responding to Messages That may seem like a lot… But imagine getting messages from people who want to offer you amazing opportunities: Higher salary Great Benefits Growth Opportunities etc. Don’t be a LinkedIn Loser! Be a winner by staying on top of these things! #linkedinprofile #personalbrand #recruiters #jobsearch #careercoaching

How should you expand your LinkedIn network while searching for a job? Everybody says that networks can help you find your job. But sometimes it may be scary. How can I find such people? Why should they help me? Here are two simple ways for you to make it happen. 🚀 Target Scaling Companies: - Search for the company name in the LinkedIn search bar. - Click on the company page. - Click on ‘People’ - Find if you have any 1st or 2nd connections - Start to network and interact with these people. If they’ve changed a role, ask them how they did it. 👋 Engage with Recruiters who are hiring now - Search for the Recruiters in the LinkedIn search bar. - Add filters: “actively hiring” “location” and “industry” - Click on their profile and find out if their vacancy fits your job search - Start to communicate and make a short intro 🔔 Just a quick reminder, discipline beats motivation. So keep taking small and regular steps for your new job. #jobsearch #careeradvice #jobhuntingtips
