Great news for mental health access in the UK! 🖤 NHS England 111 is now offering crisis mental health support, a significant advancement in making mental health care more accessible. This initiative will ensure that people experiencing a mental health crisis can get immediate help, a vital step towards reducing stigma in seeking support and improving mental health outcomes. At Black Minds Matter UK, we know the importance of timely, accessible mental health support, and we applaud this positive development. 👏 We also know that for mental health services to be truly accessible they need to be appropriate for all, which means taking cultural sensitivity and nuance in lived experience into consideration. We continue to work towards a future where mental health care is both culturally appropriate and readily available for all members of society. 🔗 Read the full article to learn more about this initiative: https://lnkd.in/eHNwqYks #MentalHealthSupport #NHS111 #BlackMindsMatterUK #HealthcareInnovation #MentalHealthMatters #CrisisSupport

The crisis in men's mental health in Ireland is a pressing issue, highlighted by alarming suicide statistics that reveal men account for three-quarters of all suicides. Recent reports indicate that in 2019, there were 421 recorded suicides, with middle-aged men on low incomes being particularly vulnerable. Despite the high prevalence of mental health struggles among men, less than 20% seek professional help, often due to societal pressures that discourage emotional expression. The Men's Mental Health Forum Ireland emphasizes the urgent need for targeted support and resources to address these challenges, advocating for a national plan to improve mental health services specifically for men. This initiative aims to foster an environment where men feel safe and encouraged to seek help before reaching a crisis point, ultimately working to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and improve overall well-being. #Psychotherapydublin #MensMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthSupport #EndTheStigma #MentalHealthIreland #MentalHealthMatters #MentalWellness #MentalHealthResources #MentalHealthAdvocacy #MentalHealthInitiative
